see posts #4 and #5 for up to date lists

Rather than carry a big box of a dozen or more decks when we travel for months, I'm creating a Rogue Deck. To carry one deck with cards from 78 different decks. Printed out so they are all the same size, cohesive and easy to shuffle.

Except I have 46 decks, leaving me short 32 cards.

This is what a printed out sheet looks like

I have a system for cutting so they all come out the same size.

What I need is friends willing to scan a cards or card from your collection that isn't already on the list, at 300 DPI, titled with card name and deck name.

In return for your efforts :) I will send you the file when the deck is complete? A nice resource for comparison of art and style?

edited to say I have all the cards volunteered, thank you!!!  Sharyn

Do you have a list of which cards you still need (majors, minors, etc.)? I'm assuming the decks in your profile are what you are using.

This sounds like a lovely idea! I'm happy to join in. :)

I'm happy to send you scans of my good old Universal Rider Waite if you want them. And also my Star Tarot when I get it it in a weeks time. Let me know what you need. Is love a copy of the deck once finished. Great idea and a best project to keep one occupied.  :heartz: :heartz: :heartz:

I've just looked through the list. Are you interested in decks that are a bit darker - i.e. Deviant Moon?

Decks I could offer are the Deviant Moon (if it's a good fit) and the Crystal Visions, the Sun and Moon, and the Mary El.

And do you want different editions of the RWS? In addition to Arabella's Universal RWS, there's also the Centennial edition of the RWS and the Radiant RWS.

Starlight!

Love them all! Although not any aces from the Mary El please :)

Deviant Moon  Crystal Visions, the Sun and Moon, and the Mary El.

Just one  of the basic RWS, from the Centennial would be lovely!

I'll PM you my email, and double check the card already scanned list, I just added some from Bodhi.

Exciting!

I'm pretty sure I've got all cards including from PMs!

Thank you, I'm so excited ;) if I haven't said that already....

Great!

I'll just pick cards from the list that still need a deck and list them here to help with not having any overlap, and to have a list for me to refer to so I'm organised when I scan. :)

5 of Wands: Sun and Moon

6 of Cups: Mary El

Knight of Swords: Deviant Moon

Page of Coins (Pentacles): Crystal Visions

Justice: Centennial RWS

ETA: Scans sent. :)

I have a system for cutting so they all come out the same size.

What cutting system do you use?

AJ-ish/Sharyn

added to the files and lists, thank you Starlight!

well System implies something well thought out ;)

And after printing a couple of sample pages might require more thought yet.

I use scissors when trimming published deck, the paper trimmer can leave raggedy edges, but self printed is much softer paper and I've never had that problem.

then corner punch the edges

https://www.michaels.com/search?q=corner%20punch

I'd recommend one with a hand squeeze rather than finger push.

I've printed decks with kodak photo paper with good success, but they are sticky to shuffle so I use Avery or HP Brochure paper 48 pound

And Joy Joy...printed at 9 per page this deck will snuggle into an Altoids Tin :)

Sounds like a good system to me! :)

Are you still waiting on 5 cards to complete the deck? (Just had a quick look at the earlier post.)

Bodhi is jumping in to fill the gaps, thanks!

I suggested the alternate to the Judgement (which we now have) because from my deck it is a round card, making a funny oblong card perhaps. I personally love it because it is titled Beyond Judgement.

We have two Justice cards now also.

So if anyone has any alternate cards you want to email to add it will make nice options when printing out, just choose the one that suits you best.

I spent some time last night w/photoshop and cropped the side borders off. That will give us a little bigger image and make it way easier to know where to slice the sections.

And in the night while not sleeping I realized they could be printed 6 to a sheet if landscape option is chosen, rather than 9 or 4. I might do that...

I think it took me about 1/4 cartridge or little less to print a deck at 9 per sheet. Just warning ;) To me it is worth it.

I have a can of spray fixative for charcoal drawings, I gave each sheet of my last printed deck 3 coats I think. You can also chose a whole pattern of some sort and run the sheets through upside down so they have nice backs. Not a priority to me.

thank you again to all for jumping in! Sharyn

I found the paper I was looking for to try another experiment so I'd have that info to send out with the scans :) mañana!

so still time if any of you want to send in some scans special to you for the deck, we have a number of cards with alternatives now, love that idea.

thanks again!

I have the Tarot Mucha which I'm happy to copy for some alternative cards. Also the Wild Unknown, but that uses animals rather than people, so I don't know if that will fit in with the theme?

Are there any alternatives in particular that you'd like to see?

I love what you are creating here, AJ. :) Unfortunately, I have no way of scanning cards so can’t participate this time.

we have a full deck now Flaxen, thank you!

Starlight, if there are a few cards that you love above all others in your deck collection go ahead and send them to me. I chose all the cards I did at random, except the Llewellyn 3 of Coins. That one I knew had to go in the deck.

Many decks today come with alternate lovers cards which I think is a nice touch. And we don't have a squirrel card come to think of it.

Posted

Let me check for a squirrel card in the Wild Unknown. Also, are you interested in a 79th card? The Crystal Visions has a blank, unknown card.

Posted

I've checked my WU and some oracle decks, but no squirrel.  :'( How would you feel about someone making one especially for the Rogue deck?

I won't scan the Crystal Visions unknown card as we have that deck already  but I can look at some of the extra artwork in other decks to see if there's something appropriate.

oh the Squirrel card is wonderful! Yes, odd cards are good! thank you ;)

I've sent a second Squirrel card and was just thinking: maybe that could serve the same purpose as an Unknown card?
