Anima Antiqua Sola Busca Art Not Original

I received the LoS Anima Antiqua version of the Sola Busca deck today (found a decent price online for an unopened copy) and was surprised to discover it is not the original artwork. I looked around on the forums here but haven't seen this discussed.

 

So I suppose the new museum quality deck coming out from LoS this summer must not be the original art either.

 

It is a superb copy apparently painted in the 19th century. The artist must have been a professional forger. It's astonishingly good. (Not the cheesy on e from about 20 yeas ago!)

 

Has anyone been discussing this?

The new one comes out this summer - with the original art. There's a thread on carto about it, too, with info I got from Lo Scarabeo.

Good news then, for me. I did hunt here for awhile to see if I could find some news but I'm not a very good hunter.  Happy dancing!
