Ephemeridae Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Hey there, I'm Nik I've been studying independently since October, so nearly a year. I only have one deck, the Tarot Mucha, but lurking around here I have accumulated quite a long wish list ;D Ephemeridae is a family of borrowing mayflies. Mayflies are symbolically significant to me and I picked a burrowing mayfly for my username because I am really shy about sharing my enthusiasm for Tarot to people in real life. So, my tarot-life happens under a rock (so to speak). I am an environmental chemist by trade, and also the mother of two girls and one girl-cat I am excited to be here, to learn and to grow in my practice, to try readings with other people, and honestly just to have people to talk to about Tarot :)
mariannehj Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Welcome Nik :) This place is SO wonderful :)
Ephemeridae Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Thank you, mariannehj I think it is too!
Em Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Hi Nik! Welcome to Tarot, Tea and Me! It is nice to have you here! :-* Don't by shy! We have to hear about your thoughts and tarot experience. Em :)
Bookworm Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Happy to see you here, Nik. I'm the same as you in not having people in my "real life" to talk to about Tarot. This is a great place! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Trogon Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Hi Nik! It's great to have you with us. It can be quite difficult to find people who are open to talking about Tarot. And, in two environments, I would think it would be more difficult than others ... in ultra-religious families, and - as in your case - in the scientific community! Them darned scientists, always wanting empirical data! :P (Just joking, of course. ;)) I was pretty shy about talking to people about Tarot early on as well. And I know there are others here that have similar issues. In either case, these forums are a good place to come to talk and learn about Tarot. The good thing about a forum like this is, everybody's input is valuable. You will have insights and thoughts based on even your brief experience with the Tarot Mucha which can add to a discussion. And even when you ask questions, framing the answers can be helpful to the ones who reply. There is also the fact that reading about the deck you're using can help some others who are looking for a new deck (or three). In any case, TT&M is an excellent place to come and talk and learn about Tarot. Glad you're here and I look forward to your input! Explore away!
Ephemeridae Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 Aw! Everyone has been so nice, thank you guys Thank you for the extra encouragement, Trogon. I do hope that I have something of value to contribute here. I even tried my hand at a couple of simple readings, I'm just waiting for feedback (eek!)
Trogon Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Aw! Everyone has been so nice, thank you guys Thank you for the extra encouragement, Trogon. I do hope that I have something of value to contribute here. I even tried my hand at a couple of simple readings, I'm just waiting for feedback (eek!) That is excellent! Doing readings for others here is a great way to dive in. Keep working at it! And don't forget to write down any new interpretations you come up with for a card, writing things down helps us to remember them (well, it does for me anyway).
