Continental Tarot À la Tarot of The Holy Light

I've been reading the guidebook to Tarot of the Holy Light and finding myself liking the system. At least what I understand of it since I do not have the actual Tarot of the Holy Light deck! I was wondering if besides that deck, The Gran Tarot Esoterico and The Crystal Tarot, there were other decks that followed the same astrological system. 

 

What I'm looking for specifically is astrological associations in the majors that differ from the Golden Dawn and its derivatives.

when the deck first came out the author was very active on the deck threads at AT, I'm betting you would find some good leads there, maybe someone can narrow down and link to them.

Thank you! This whole search began because I have contentions regarding the planetary associations in the Majors. They don't fully jive with me. I know that in one deck I have, the Piatnik Wein TDM, the astrological associations are different. For example, Jupiter is linked with The Pope or Hierophant. Which makes sense to more than the Wheel of Fortune. I also have issues with the whole hebrew letter associations, which I find superfluous. Hahaha. Maybe I should create my own astrological deck?

Definitely the right place! 🙂It's great that you're adding variety with a thread not devoted to Golden Dawn correspondences. 

 

If you haven't seen it, you might also like this thread titled 'Etteilla's Correspondences' at the old AT forum. There's a lot about this sort of thing archived at AT, (which you may already have gone through), but this isn't an area I've done more than poke around in before I decided I was going to focus in on the GD and Thoth, so I'm not of much help.

 

If it's helpful, Oswald Wirth's correspondences as given by Papus are at the bottom of this page from the chapter 'The Astronomical Tarot' in Tarot of the Bohemians.

 

Oh - I just remembered, also old, but the GD Cheat Sheet deck page oddly enough has a list at the end of eight decks with alternate astrological systems.

Thank you for all the resources, currently going through them and reading little by little. I realize the deeper I go in that what I'm looking for, I think I mentioned this, is for differing planetary associations because I'm looking for one that clicks with me. I've begun to feel a need to get more occult tarot study under my belt, especially since I already magically play with the decans. I thought, what better way to mold tarot (my love) with astrology than finding a system that coheres it all? I'm very intrigued by the continental tradition and its differing associations. Normally, I just stick to the GD, I love the Hermetic Tarot.

I'm going to see if I can set up a Tarot of the Holy Light study group on the Tarot Forum.

I recently spoke with Christine and she's interested in doing online lectures and video discussions about TOHL. 

 

I want to see if I and other can generate enough interest for her to make this happen. 

I feel this would be a wonderful opportunity for those who have the deck and would like to explore it further.

TOHL holds a lot of valuable information within the Kabbalah, Alchemy, Astrology, etc. 

 

Let me know if you would like to connect in creating a TOHL study group or exchanging feedback about the deck.
