modern oracle Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Hi Friends, Does anyone use templates when they do a reading, as way of recording the reading for themselves or others? Or do you use templates when journalling or studying the Tarot? As someone that likes aesthetics and uniformity in my notes, I find templates a good way to streamline the design of my study. Making them look beautiful really draws me back to my notes time and again. It's a step up from the old highlighters and jelly pens from my school days! Haha.
Raggydoll Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 What great topics you are starting! Yes, I have worked with templates for logging and analyzing readings that I’ve done for others. I don’t use them anymore but I guess I still have a certain formula or procedure (ritual, perhaps?) in my head when I do things. So maybe it has just integrated? I do love journaling, pens and notebooks etc. A lot of tarot folks seem to love that stuff. At least if you look at the tarot community at YouTube!
McFaire Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Yes. In the olden days before digital cameras, I made a template in Adobe Illustrator. I enjoyed tracking readings with card images I found online and symbols I drew, along with my notes. I must admit that nowadays I'm more likely to be lazy and take a photo of a reading with my phone and make some notes in Word. But I have template-journals in Illustrator going back to the 90s. I still use Illustrator for tarot study aside from readings. I like working with images and symbols. Recently I started created a template for working with the numerology. For example, contemplating the fives, I gathered images of the fives from various of my favorite decks, and made a page spread with notes and symbols. The idea would be that over time, I'd have 14 of these page spreads for the minor arcana and 22 for the majors.
bookshop Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Hi! I just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd bring it back. Does anybody have any favorite journaling or reading notes templates that they care to share? I love the idea of templates but I'm always having trouble getting started with them myself. Maybe I just haven't found the right one.
