They responded promptly and said they would send me the replacement as soon as it is available. I told them I want to keep the one I received and they said no problem.

I heard back from Schiffer within an hour of contacting them, and they couldn't have been more helpful. Good customer service like that goes a long way toward restoring one's confidence.

Marie has a link in her blog post to contact Schiffer for a replacement when it comes out.

Is Schiffer also replacing the faulty ones we purchased on Amazon?

 

ETA: i just contacted Schiffer's Customer Service Dept, as Marie suggested. i am hoping they will replace my faulty deck.  The Black edges were done so poorly, i stopped using my deck. You can't even touch it, without the edges chipping...

I agree that this was the right call. I, too, contacted Schiffer last night, so I guess I'll get a response sometime next week.

Yes, that's where I got mine. The fellow who wrote me back asked if I could send a copy of my invoice, but if not it would be okay and they'd still replace the set - no questions asked, no conditions. I didn't send the invoice, but gave him my order number.

Same here. I located my invoice in my Amazon account and sent him a copy. But he had said not to worry if I couldn't find it.

Thanks so much, my awesome friends! i am very happy to hear that good news. i wrote them a couple of hours ago, but since today is Saturday, i imagine i won't hear back from them until Monday, i am really looking forward to seeing the improved cards!:bubble_blovekiss::78496:

I'm happy to hear that the publisher is taking these issues seriously. I look forward to getting this deck now that I know the deck will be fixed!

First thing this morning, i heard back from Schiffer's customer service dept. A very nice fellow named Dan assured me that i would receive a replacement!

i am so happy and relieved.  i did send him the relevant part of my Amazon receipt. Can't wait to see the improved edition. He is not sure when that will be.

So did I, and it was apparently the same person. Was the Dan who wrote to you a possible relative of Voldemort? 😉

Schiffer got back to me quite fast and advised they would send a replacement.  Customer service is top notch.

I actually asked him, believe it or not. He laughed about it and purported not to have read the books or seen the movies. But of course we all know better. Blood will tell...

Has anybody heard anything regarding the replacement decks, lately? It has already been a couple of months...

On Amazon UK the second edition is listed as having been published on August 1st - I guess this is the re-print. It costs quite a bit though. Since it looks like the re-print is now out in the wild it might be a good idea to chase up Schiffer if you're waiting for a replacement deck.

On Amazon US It is only available from third parties (at outrageous prices), so it is safe to assume that it has not been re-released yet. I guess we'll have to be patient for now.

i wrote to Dan Riddle [Schiffer customer service] and he answered me this morning. He said they received the new printing last week, and that my deck was probably being shipped today...so that is good news for all of who have been wondering!200.gif

Interesting. On Amazon UK, with the August 1st publishing date, The 2nd edition is being sold through Amazon itself. I guess this has to be the original printing then - talk about confusing!

From my understanding, This will be the  2nd edition...without the flaws. There were problems, that is why many of us are getting it replaced at no charge. They did a re-printing which they received last week.

I checked the Amazon UK page and it IS confusing. The picture shown is the second edition box, and it appears as sold directly by Amazon, but the price is rather high. I would wait a little or write directly to Schiffer if I were you.
