Same for me, Flizzy! That was my main issue, too, and i didn't riffle shuffle. But i am still glad i have it.

I do riffle shuffle,  but I'm very gentle and have a bunch of gilded decks that have stayed looking very nice through the years. This one started peeling right away.

 

Maybe it's something about black ink. I have gilded and edged a whole bunch of my decks, and the only ones that always bleed (and I do mean always) are the black ones.

It's a shame really because the subtle holographic effect (think oil-slick) on the black is very nice.

It looks beautiful to me. I just had time for a quick look, haven't tried to shuffle it yet. I am happy for Marie White because her work truly deserves it.

I spent some time shuffling it yesterday, and I can attest that it shuffles dreamily and without the dreadful peeling that the black gilded edges showed.

 

As an aside, I had my first legible reading with the Mary-El  three weeks ago. I did a one-card reading regarding my sick kitty, Ayesha. The card was the Knight of Swords reversed. From the book: "Something flying out of your life." Sure enough, she took a quick turn for the worse and had to be put to sleep a few days later. It was a crystal clear and painfully honest response.

Oh Flizzy, i am so sorry to hear about your dear Ayesba's passing...i know only too well--how difficult a Rite of Passage that is....sigh...

My Niece also had to have her very ill and suffering 15 year old dog [Chloe] put "to sleep" around 2 and half weeks ago. i am sending much love and many healing hugs for your sad heart to heal...xoxox
