Trogon Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 While contemplating The Fool for the 78 Weeks study, I've been trying to think of moments that are kind of a Fool moment ... how The Fool fits in with life, songs, and so on. This moment from the show "Third Rock from the Sun" popped into my head;
Ix Chel Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I have always loved the show third rock from the Sun. And you are right that it is a Fool moment. These TV show Aliens came here to learn about the humans, and new nothing from the planet Earth. I also have to think about Harry Potter, he did not know that he was a wizard, and then a whole new world has opened for him.
Trogon Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 Ah! I didn't even think of Harry Potter when I was studying The Fool! But yes, I can definitely see that constant feeling of wonder about everything around you with that character. And now that you mention it, there are a lot of heroes who we can see as The Fool at the beginning of their stories. Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars movie (which was that, Chapter IV, I think?). Bilbo Baggins as well, to a great extent, has a correlation as he is stepping out from his quite existence in The Shire to discover all of the adventures he falls into. And, now that I put my mind to it, there might be quite a few fictional characters where The Fool would fit, but not quite so obviously. Dr. Watson, for example, when he first meets Sherlock Holmes in "A Study in Scarlet" has no idea what he is getting himself into.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I slammed my own head in the car door once. UberFool moment
