VGimlet Posted July 20, 2019 Author Posted July 20, 2019 I'm sticking to the Radiant Wise Spirit deck this week. Didn't make my minimum number of readings this week - so it will stay for another round. Bad Barb....lol....
Mi-Shell Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I am here as well, this week with the Stone Nature Tarot. My musings / findings will be on the Stone Tarot thread.
Katie Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I'n in! Fin dr Siècle Kipper fortune telling deck. Asked them about what to do with all THINGS I have. I have been tumbling this question for years. I keep sorting things and keep things that I use. Somehow I keep ending up with full cupboards etc. What to do with these material things? Best possible outcome is the pyramid in the middle. The coffin tells me it's time to say goodbye to many of the things. Great fortune spills on the significatpr (nr 2 card). Obstacles (left pyramid) is that there is a constant change/flow of things. Both mine and the family's. The outcome pyramid to the right is mainly positive. Surprise cards are positive though imprisonment spills a bit on the family room card. So... keep on sorting stuff out but maybe being more tough on it. Katie
Bodhiseed Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 We've had another area wide internet outage here for almost a week now. Connection appears occasionally and then disappears. Thought I'd better post while I had the chance! I'm in with the Ferret Tarot paired with Nature’s Wisdom - I need some comic relief! 😄 Thank you VG. 💚
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I haven't had a straightforward RWS deck for at least 15 years, this week I purchased the University Books edition which is sitting down in the post office box as we speak. I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with our basics! Without all the US Games Inc carpola involved which I think is partially why I never warmed to the deck. Who needs drama?
Madame Squee Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Thank you for the thread, VG! I'm in with the Golden Thread Tarot this week. Speaking of gold, I can read this deck at night by the glow of the laptop.
Madame Squee Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 (edited) I love the Golden Thread Tarot. It shuffles like butter and makes me wish more of my decks were printed on plastic. The ingenious lines of the golden artwork appeal to me greatly. I can point to many favorites among these cards, but the Hermit might be my all-time favorite rendition of the 9th Arcana. I fall into this card... (You can see the Hermit here, scroll down... https://labyrinthos.co/products/golden-thread-tarot-deck-cards ) Edited July 25, 2019 by Madame Squee
Bodhiseed Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 @Madame Squee With those concentric circles, it does have a hypnotic quality to it! Thanks for the review on the use of plastic for the cards; I would have never thought them to be so easy to shuffle!
Katie Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 @Madame Squee "shuffles like butter", nice expression, I see what you mean. Plastic is actually quite nice in cards I think. Katie
Madame Squee Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 (edited) Is it Show & Tell Friday? I also have some wonderful old KEM plastic playing cards from the 50's. They also shuffle like butter and read very well too. The Aces tell you when the deck was printed -- just look for the four-digit code. One of these decks was printed in November of 1952, the other in December. Both decks are well-used and have turned an ivory color, except for the Jokers and re-order cards, which have remained stark white. Pinkish and green marks appear on all the cards, I imagine as a consequence of color bleed and absorption over the years. The two decks are stored in their original bakelite box, which has that old lovely (depending on your perspective) bakelite aroma. I found them on eBay. Now, I've wound myself up and will have to sign up with playing cards next week. Edited July 25, 2019 by Madame Squee Add photos!!!
Mi-Shell Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 I had quit a mixed week with the Stone Tarot. As mentioned I opened a thread for it in the Tarot Decks section. Since I had a very busy week I had only a few hours each morning to work with it and I still have to write up a few more things.
