chongjasmine Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 What is your first experience like, reading for others? Me, I remembered I read for my dad and he told me my reading wasn't accurate and it was so discouraging for me. It was my first reading for others and it wasn't accurate. I wanted to give up tarot there and then. But I persevere, and other readings came and they were more accurate. And my confidence grew... by a little. I am still nervous when giving a face to face reading for others. Which is why I tend to do online readings. Enough about me. What about you? What is your first experience like, reading for others?
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 My boss asked me to read for her. I sweat bullets and thought I was going to faint. I still remember the subject and some of the cards though. My biggest lesson was reading out loud is a whole different thing from sitting at a table and thinking about them. Saying what we are thinking out loud is a serious part of reading the cards. I practiced on my cat...
Barleywine Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) It was too long ago to even remember who and where. But I do recall my first paid reading some time later (in the mid-'70s), which was for my brother-in-law's mother. In retrospect, the reading I gave wasn't really worth the money. Alizon Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 I have been reading for myself for some time before I read for a friend for the first time, and it it was better than I thought. Also the cards seemed to be accurate. For example on the day we read the cards she stayed away from work pretending to be ill and the Seven of Swords represented her current attitude about her workplace, which I thought was just perfect to represent her sneaking away. Another time the cards showed that she was going to meet someone who was young (this was not what she wanted, and I remember her complaining :D) and that this relationship will be troublesome (Ten of Wands). Turned out she met someone young she got into a long distance relationship with and it turned out rather ardous as she confirmed later. (it didn't last).
