Your favourite/least favourite card?

What is your favourite or least favourite card?

I don't have any least favourite.

My favourite card is high priestess.

My absolute favorite is The Emperor.

Closely following it are Strength, The Devil, Knight of Cups, and 6 of Wands.

I'm also very partial to the King of Cups, Queen of Swords, Knight of Pentacles, 10 of Cups, and 8 of Pentacles.

I am of course wary of the so-called "negative" cards, but I don't abhor any of them as I know that they do have lessons to teach.

I wouldn't say I have a least favorite; in a different context each card can be a "good card" to me but I get annoyed with 7 of swords. Also I'm wary of the Lovers card.

I love the Sun, 8 of wands, and 2 of cups. :)

My favorite card is Temperance, followed by the Star, the Queen of Wands, the Hierophant, and the Six of Swords.

My least favorite right now is the Devil, probably for similar reasons that most people seem to dislike the Hierophant. I've noticed that past least faves (Emperor, Justice) just need me to warm up and view them in a different light.

Mmh...good question! That makes me wonder if I have an ultimate 'favorite card' that I prefer in most decks.

I would say the High Priestess and the Hermit.

For the least favorite...well I guess it would be the Tower. I know it doesn't necessarily imply total destruction of my life or anything but I don't really like changes in my routine, even when they're not negative!

Interestingly, my fiancee's favorite card is the Devil! I always thought it was funny  ;D

I think my favorite cards so far are ones that connect with easily. The three of swords and two of pentacles are probably my favorite cards. Of the majors, the Empress stands out as a favorite for me.

In general I have a harder time with the cups cards. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that it takes a lot more work for me to connect to them.

I do have a least favorite. The Page of Swords. I just... ugh. It's probably because pulling that card is like looking in a mirror that reflects the most negative parts of myself.

I have lots of favourites - Moon, Emperor, Nine of Pentacles.

Least favourite; two or three of Wands. Doesn't matter which, Both sort of boringly interchangeable. *snore*

For the art of the thing my least favorite is Judgment.  The concept doesn't seem to inspire originality.

My most favorite would be the tower.  I think it was World Spirit that shows us the Tower from the perspective of one of the falling bodies.

Probably my most favorite has become The Chariot. I think this mainly stems from the Röhrig Tarot. The Chariot card really drew me to the deck. Ever since, I've loved the card and it is one of the first that I will check out, if I can, when looking at a new deck. A really cool Chariot isn't the only thing that will decide me on a deck ... but it helps. A poorly done one can put me off, though it's not the only one that makes or breaks a deck.

Another is The Fool. I feel that the Fool is one of the most important cards in a deck since so much of the deck is about the "Fool's Journey". If an artist deviates from standard imagery, I want to be able to see what they have put in and be able to get a good idea of why. Although, the great departure from the standard Fool imagery in the [url-http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/haindl/]Haindl Tarot[/url] is one of the things that drew me to the deck. (You can see an image of the Haindl Fool card on my entry for it in the 78 Weeks of Tarot study group; https://www.thetarotforum.com/78-weeks-of-tarot/78-weeks-of-tarot-the-fool-663/msg5458/#msg5458.)

In the Minor Arcana, there are a few that I always try to look at when deciding on a new deck and those are most of the "scary" cards; 9 and 10 of Swords, 5 of Coins/Pentacles, 5 and 7 of Wands for example. I guess they're kind of "favorites" because I prefer to have decks that actually address the reality of life, rather than glossing over the "bad" things that can happen. But, I also like the 10 of Coins/Pentacles and the 10 of Cups as well.

Always the Moon, across all decks. If anyone has a broken deck I'd love to get the moon card.

Least favorite?  8 of wands, so lame when it could be so much.

8 of wands has always been a great card for me; usually pops up right before an unexpected suprise; something of value or excitement. :) I wonder what it comes up for you?

My favourites are the Page of Cups, The Hermit, Queen of Swords, Queen of Wands and 9 of Pentacles.

The Hierophant has started to become important. I'd like to get to know this card better so I try to look out for interesting Hierophants since the pope unfortunately doesn't tell me very much yet.

Least fav would be 2 & 3 of Wands and 5 & 7 of Swords. It's probably a cliché at this point point but I tend to mix up those pairs :(

I forgot about the "least favorite". That's actually kind of tough. But in general, I'd have to say that pretty much all of the Courts fall into that category. But, now that I'm getting better at interpreting them, they're not so bad. Other than that, maybe The Sun ... it's just too happy ...

I can have issues with the Sun too Trogon. I have a hard time going any deeper than "it's, uhm, sunny. A good time! Happy times!" and I think it's part that the card rarely comes up for me and part been spending half my life as more or less depressed so it's hard to relate to things actually being good! I have no idea how other people can wake up with a spring in their step and not immediately feel the weight of the world crushing them down :P

I like most of the cards in the cup and pentacles suit and dislike most of the cards in the sword suits.

No particularly least favourite, just general dislike for swords.

Oh yes! Definitely know what you mean about being depressed. My best days are when the depression falls away enough for me to get up, go to work and function on a relatively "normal" level. But I do find that the Tarot does help me to cope fairly well.

I think that is kind of how The Sun is for me as well. I have to dig far back in my memories to see such happy times. They are there, just a tad difficult to find sometimes.

My favourite card is the Moon and least favourite cards are all the Court cards! If I have to chose only one card I think it has to be 3 in Swords.

Posted

Favorite cards, 2 of cups, 3 of swords (but not together lol), Strength.

Least favorite? 10 of cups (for making me think in the past happy times and meaning the end), the moon

My favorites are the Star and the Wheel. My least favorites are the Three of Swords and the Eight of Wands, mostly because they are illustrated in the same ways in many decks. Seeing a deck with cards that don't have a heart stabbed with swords or wands flying through the air always makes me interested in it. :D

My least favorite card is Judgement. My faves are the Three of Swords, The Hermit and The King of Cups.

Posted

My favourites are the The Star, the Ace of Cups and the Queen of Swords - those are also some of my personal dealbreakers when it comes to choosing a new deck.

As for the least favourites, the King of Cups, Hierophant and Judgment never seem to get along very well with me. :/

Well, I have two favourite cards - The Star (hence my handle Northstar  ;D ) and the Sun and my least favourite is the 5 of Cups, I feel the pain and loss altho I can see the guidance it provides.  Cheers, Northstar

I'm not sure of a least favorite - maybe the courts, because so many books seem to refer to them only as representing people, which doesn't always fit.

As for favorites I really like the Star, and the Three of Cups usually reminds me of me and my two sisters which makes me smile.

My favorite card is Temperance, followed by the Star, the Queen of Wands, the Hierophant, and the Six of Swords.

I have a few favorite cards.  First of all, I love all the knights.  Of the minors I love the 3 of wands, 7 of Pentacles, King of Cups and the Ace of Cups, 8 of Swords and for majors; I’m a Temperance girl too.  I also love Devil cards.

Least favorite is harder for me because I love and need all cards for readings.  If I had to pick one it might be The Star.  Even tho it is my card (Aquarius),

I find it stereotypical of my sign.  I feel Aquarius is the Gunga Din of the Zodiac and The Star is the Ganda Din of the tarot.  Stereotypical.
