Hi LittleFang and team,

 

I'm starting to feel at home already. Thank you so much for your efforts in making this forum work - and I know how much can be involved, it's not trivial! I have read how the complexities of software and forum databases can lead to a level of non-transferable, unique corporate knowledge - resulting in a forum can't be handed on to a replacement team. But a forum is more than software, so, can I ask:

 

do you have a long-term succession plan in place to allow for the survival of the community should the owner and admin team members need to take a hiatus or possibly depart?

 

I understand that you may not, or may only have some vague thoughts on the matter. That's ok. Just sort of looking for some solid ground at the moment.

Hello @archimedea  We are delighted you are enjoying the forum so much!  Please don't worry for TT&M though.  Our staff is extremely competent and several of us have years and years of experience.  Between the staff and the wonderful members of our community, we hope to be around longer than AT was.

I've unpacked my suitcase and have a pile of unfolded laundry on the couch...I'm settled in and I'm never gonna leave!

As long as I have this amazing staff backing me and taking care of everyone (and as long as I can pay for the software, donations definitely help!) I am going to keep running this place until forever.  If something happened, I'd be willing to pass it to somebody else rather than close it like another forum did. 😉 Thank you for being here, get comfy, it's a long ride!

We would go to great lengths to help finance this place. Maybe not as far as posing in skimpy Christmas calendars, but still very far! 😁

Ooh, I do look very dignified! With a very classy and contemporary deck too! 😊 It is probably smart to put me first because then people can think “Hmm.. not very impressive. But I guess it can only get better from here”. It lowers their expectations in a genius way so that they are totally blown away by the time that they see Grandma as December !! 😘❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hmmm I'll have to think about that one.  "where you'll place the cards"!  I'm on the floor!  Now I need to go play with my precious Rumi Tarot that just arrived   It will be that or the Counterculture Tarot on Miss December Grandma if I go ahead with this increasingly unnerving project.

What a lovely thread. I started going on forums when I was in middle school and now, a little more than a decade later, I'm back to it with this forum. There's something absolutely charming about this kind of online platform. So much calmer and communal than a lot of other sites.

So true! The atmosphere is so different on forums, and this particular forum is simply the best one I’ve ever been part of!
