the knight of swords and the two of cups

hi everyone,

in asking a question about how person A felt about reconciling with person B, the card drawn was the knight of swords, when asked to clarify this, the two of cups was drawn. i'm totally stuck on this one!

to me the knight of swords has always been about jumping into things too quickly, without much thought but the two of cups is very much a loving and warm card to me. i am certain im missing the bigger picture here

thanks for any input!

Feelings in general are very complex and any two cards can pair together well to describe them as no one just feels pure sadness or anger or joy at any one point; there is a mix at all times. If I were you I would sit with the two cards focus on the person in question and feel this one out and let whatever thoughts and feelings come to you and listen to your intuition. I would read this as he's impatient and really wants to talk things out to potentially reconcile or get something off his chest in the love department. This knight isn't just about jumping in "too" quickly. He wants what he wants what he wants and he wants it now and is impatient in getting it. He rushes boldly ahead. He is a communicator. I would read these together as him wanting to work things out (at the very least the feelings he has) by talking through things; he may be a little headstrong in his initial approach though once the ball starts rolling...but like I said if you have a good empathic sense; definitely meditate for a min on these cards; there may be a little snapiness or frustration or anger there with this knight; but feel things out. :)

To me, the Knight of Swords is the coldest and most aloof of all the knights. Being Fire of Air, he has drive and passion in good measure, but this is in pursuit of his ideals and advantages. Altho love and friendship might be one of his goals, he has the sagacity and clarity of mind to make sure that the balance of advantages in any relationship would be tilted in his favor. He is headstrong, adamant and prefers to get his way. I think that this is currently Person A's current mindset regarding his situation with Person B.

The 2 of Cups presages that all is not lost and that there is still a way to heal this rift but it will be hard-going. Person B would have to make significant overtures and concessions towards Person A if this relationship is to be mended

Hi Fernwolf

I wonder, when you asked for a clarifier, did you, consciously or incousciously asked for a better card than the knight of swords? I don't judge anything, it's just that it has happened to me before. Relationship readings can be difficult when we want a nice answer, and it happened to me many times that I wasn't detached enough and made appear the cards I wanted to see (2 of cups, lovers, sun, etc), especially when the card before was not good.

Anyways, when i have difficulties to see what a card and its clarifier have in common i just focus on the first card only because it's the main one. In my experience the knight of swords is selfish and doesn't mind provoking arguments to win his cause. He just can't see other's point of view, and sometimes, doesn't care.

But's that how I see him, i know for some people he is about messages and communication, so let's hope it's the case here ;)
