RavenOfSummer Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 I'm on the email list for the Capital Tarot Society (Rachelcat from AT's group based in Washington, D.C.), and this piece just got shared. Basically the idea is that the writer took each card from the Major Arcana and paired it with a book that she feels illustrates the principles of or relates to the card. Pretty cool idea! http://www.signature-reads.com/2017/09/reading-major-arcana-22-tarot-card-book-pairings/
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 What an intriguing concept, RavenOfSummer! Off the top of my head I can think of a few books to match each Major: THE FOOL - The Once and Future King by T. H. White THE EMPEROR - Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar THE LOVERS - The Wings of the Dove by Henry James JUSTICE - And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie THE DEVIL - Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos de Laclos THE STAR - The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald THE WORLD - I, Claudius and Claudius the God by Robert Graves
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Btw, I just noticed something. I thought I was a pretty wide reader but of all the 22 books in the article, I'm only familiar with The Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. The others left me muttering "whut?". I've read around 0% of them.
