Greetings From Southern Florida!

Hi,

I used to frequent the AT site too, but haven't joined any other online tarot until now. That was an amazing site and I've been really missing the connection of reading for others. I own about ten other decks and they are a variety with different artworks such as animal-focused, cat themed or nature themes.  I have set of moonstone runes I like to practice, and the Gilded lenormand and other divination decks. Currently, I prefer my Hanson-Roberts deck because of its familiar feel to me as I've been out of reading practice for few years now! Looking forward to returning to reading and keep on improving my skills at reading for others.

Beyond tarot, I'm a full time student (taking a semester off), love flower gardening, and working towards my career in counseling.

Nice to see an active forum, looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi @Myakka_Fire, welcome!  I'm over here on the west coast in the Tampa Bay area.  It's great to have fellow Floridians in the forum. There is plenty to check out here and if you get stuck, just ask someone and you'll have some help! :animated-smileys-signs-085:

Hi Saturn,

I checked your link because I am a curious person and see that losing a parent brought you closer to tarot. The loss of my father this past July really sent me into a tailspin and its been recently confirmed that I am exhibiting symptoms of PTSD. In a way, I knew it before the medical team told me, I was there to get medicine so I can heal and continue to move forward. His death was sudden and due to stage IV stomach cancer, it was awful, as if watching someone be ate alive for 6 weeks. Last week, I decided to seek out my therapist but found out I've lost coverage so now I'm working on improving my health independently which brought me back to my love of tarot and all spiritual things. It was interesting to find out we had a similar event leading back to the tarot path.

Hi Myakka.  I am so sorry for your loss.  If you have some way of getting on some meds, please try.  They really do help.  When you are studying the tarot, give yourself breaks in between so you don't get burned out finding out about yourself.  It can get pretty intense and you want to stay on an even keel.  We have many sections to meet new friends here!  If you are comfortable reading with others, check out the circles we have!  They are a lot of fun!!  If you ever want to chat, PM me.  We Floridians need to stick together! :azn:

Welcome to the forum!  Sorry to hear about your loss 😞

I hope you'll find us a pleasant bunch here and get involved around the forum!

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words! True, it's been a difficult time coping with this loss of my dad. It took a month or so to finally realize I wasn't doing so great.

@Saturn Celeste Tampa is actually close by! So much so that USF is my third choice for graduate classes! Florida International (Miami) is my first choice because of the appealing religious studies course work in a multitude of interdisciplinary religions. Currently, I live in Ft. Myers and am attending Florida Southwest for undergraduate classes. I'm passionate for counseling others and plan to culminate my education towards this goal.

I am very excited for you pursuing your education!  Hard work will keep your mind on task.  And this truly is a great community to explore your more spiritual side.  We're happy to have you Myakka!

Hi and welcome to TT&M @Myakka_Fire! My heart goes out to you on the loss of your father. Sending a big comforting hug your way. :animated-smileys-hug-002:

@LoveLightPeace Thank you so much for the virtual hug; losing him has been an isolating experience. I overextended myself and am just beginning to feel grounded and safe once more.
