Hi all! My name is Sam and I am from Cedar Rapids/Mount Vernon, Iowa. I have been looking at getting into tarot purely on a "having fun" basis as I am a big nerd and lover of the occult (though lacking any real knowledge of it) and so yesterday I bought a Smith-Waite Deck from a local shop. I did a couple readings last night for my girlfriend (we are poly) and nothing special happened. Then, today, I did a three card reading to start off trying to do daily readings for myself...and it really stunned me as to how accurate it was. Now, I am looking for people to talk to/explain/teach me about this terrifyingly accurate practice that is tarot!

There's nothing to be terrified about concerning Tarot but welcome to the forum! We'll help you to see Tarot as a friendly medium, not a terrifying one. 🙂 Tarot is only as accurate as the one reading the cards, anyway, and it's a life-long learning experience for most of the people I know.

Thanks all for the warm wishes 🙂 and if any of you (Celeste especially since you are close) can make it to Iowa, stop by Mount Vernon. There is a BEAUTIFUL little new age shop called Kae Apothecary. Me and my girlfriend have been there a lot and it has inspired me so much.

Oh I live in Florida now. 😉  I know Mt Vernon though.  I drove semi for a trucking company out of Story City and I was also a school bus driver for sports events.  We had some games between Story City, Roland and Mt Vernon. 😉  Long time ago though.
