She has a youtube channel (that I will link below) and an etsy shop where she offers readings with these spreads (also linked below). In her video she encourages people to try these spreads for themselves and she generously shares the spread positions on her etsy page. Her channel is great so do check it out! The first spread is for those who are embarking on a depth year for the very first time while the second year is for those that are doing a second (or third...) depth year. Depth Year Preparation spread (3 cards) 1. Something you need to bring in before starting your Depth Year - an inspiration you need to hear.2. Something to be cautious of or to avoid when you plan your Depth Year.3. A possibly unexpected way in which you will grow through your Depth Year - the potential it holds for you. Depth Year Refresher & Inspiration spread (3 cards) 1. What area do you need to rethink right now in your Depth Year practice?2. What old aspect that you thought was important can you now let go in your Depth Year practice? This can be a commitment or rule that no longer serves your growth.3. What fresh new aspect or mindset can you bring into your Depth Year to get the most out of it at this point? Yeah, it’s been in my mind too and I really appreciated hearing her thoughts on what she’s learned and what she wishes that she had known before embarking on her own depth year. I was watching Jessica the story witch too and she spoke about how she functions best when she doesn’t have that many specific rules set up and when things are allowed to unfold organically. So she will not decide on all the things that she will go deep with next year, just that she will go deep in general and then go in the direction where she is called to. And that resonates a lot with me. I actually think i might combine all those positions and tweak them into one big spread, because I need a little bit of everything in there. Maybe we should start another depth year thread too, where those that want to can share their readings?

Do you think the spread would work with oracle decks as well as Tarot? (Right now I'm trying to move away from the RWS and into TdM by way of something that is not RWS; Kipper, ideally. I want to clear my head and start afresh with TdM when the time is right.)

I use mostly oracle decks myself these days. If you like to, we could exchange depth year readings and have our own thread? Or if you prefer to read for yourself then we can have a more general thread. Or both 😀 Let me know, and do feel free to start a depth year thread (I’m about to start cooking dinner but I’ll pop in later!)

Depth year is like a commitment where you decide to focus on the things that you already own and go deep with them instead of bringing in new things, starting new projects or learning new hobbies etc. It has become a really big thing where lots of people commit to a depth year. Everyone gets to set their own premises and while some people restrict their purchases, others allow themself to purchase anything they need in order to go deep with a certain topic. I think that the reason why so many tarot readers are doing (or trying to do) a depth year is because they feel overwhelmed by all their decks and their habits of constantly craving new things. bookshop Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 This is nifty, thank you, @Raggydoll! I don't think i've considered a depth year before this (and i don't tend to consume much as it is, outside of collecting tarot decks), but it might be a really nice change of pace.
