How goes it for everyone? As you can tell by my user handle, my name is Tim. I've taken up the Tarot for the past year and a half, I want to say? I joined to find a community to grow, learn and, evolve my tarot with. Virgo Sun, Leo Rising, and Sagittarius Moon for anyone it might be of interest to. Lately I find I always draw cards for myself of the earth and fire elements which one could say relates to my chart which is mostly earth with a background of fire. I'm most definitely excited to talk to all of you and vice versa as we navigate and discuss tarot as a whole. While your read my self introduction I have a question for you. Which Tarot card would you say symbolizes your best and worst self? I'd say at my best I'm certainly the hermit in all his internal wisdom and at my worst perhaps the ten of wands with the burdens I take on not asking for help? Ahead of time I want to say thank you for any welcoming replies. 🙏

Hi Tim. :)
Sagg rising, Taurus sun, moon and north node in Scorpio. Neptune, too, if you're doing outer planets.
I think we'll get along OK.

That's an interesting question, I've never considered it.
But I've been all those. I think we all have, unless maybe we are very, very young. I don't mean twenty. More like five.
But if I had to pick one for each, I'd say the Tower for the worst. I can wreck stuff. I have it pretty well harnessed now and I don't wreck anything that doesn't need to be wrecked. But when I was young, I could do it inadvertently. I meant well enough, but I lacked life experience and I made some regrettable decisions. Must be all that Scorp in opposition to my sun. But I learned, and let me say now that remorse is not a bad thing. It's what keeps us from repeating the same mistakes!
The best? The World. Everything's cool, everything's fine*, everything is done, the sun is shining, the birds are singing**, etc. I get that sometimes. It's not a permanent state (because the Wheel, duh! LOL.) but I've been that lady dancing in the mandorla.

*

**"...for me and my gal" as Joseph Campbell said. Only there doesn't have to be a gal, or a guy...just one of those good days where everything works right. ❤️

Love that your answer started with this insight. Totally agree. I guess you could say I posed my question in regards to ones current mental health/spirituality/energy. Light self vs. Shadow self to further elaborate.

Loved your answers. Guess one could verify you might be a bull in a china shop at times? JK! Lol. I'd love for my best self to have the energy The World card. *envious eyes* I'm just a hermit keeping to myself, typing away on a tarot forum in my cave, attaining knowledge.

Hi Tim!

I'm Sagittarius Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Cancer Rising, Pisces Mid-heaven...an interesting mix of fire and water which I most definitely am!

Your question really got me thinking,  and after a lot of reflection, I'd say the card that represents me at my worst recently is 9 of swords. I've been struggling with severe anxiety since my father passed last January, and it's been a nightmare.

At my best, I'd say I'm a cross between the queen of cups and of wands. I'm very, very passionate about certain things, but also very empathetic and emotional.

I am so sorry for your loss. It’s been twelve years now that I lost one of my parents and I understand your pain. For what it’s worth your father is always guiding you through life. I always perceive my mother as a guide of mine and know she is living through me. I hate the 9 of swords! I got that card as my daily card on one of the worst shifts I ever worked at as a server. Only server in a bombarded, packed restaurant without any structure. One could say the anxiety was all too real, lol. Definitely felt like a nightmare at work. Love that you know your strengths with those two queen cards which read like your astrology being half of fire half of water. 50/50 of such opposing elements. I’d guess that you come across very balanced at your best or like boiling water/hot steam at your worst. Astrology isn’t my strong suit so I apologize if I sound presumptuous.

I’m so happy this question is resonating so far.

Hello @TarotOfTim welcome to the TT&M Family :animated-smileys-signs-085: It is indeed an interesting question you are asking and it will take a bit of time to really reflect on that. So I might come back with an answer 😉

Thank you.  I lost my mom when I was 7 and I know she has been with me, as I'm sure my dad is also.

And you are correct. I'm pretty balanced most of the time... but when I've had it... watch out! Haha. Takes a lot to get me to that point though.

Hi and welcome to TT&M @TarotOfTim! 🙂

I'm a Capricorn sun, Aquarius moon and Pisces Rising. As for tarot cards that symbolize my best and worst self, that depends. The best and worst parts of ourselves change as we grow and learn. Right now I would say my best self is represented by the Empress, and my worst self represented by the 9 of Swords.

Welcome to the forum @TarotOfTim!

Your question is indeed interesting.  I keep flitting between cards so I think I need to ponder this question further.

Welcome to the forum, Tim. I'm a Virgo too and The Hermit and 10 of Wands are my cards too. I don't know my sun/,moon signs but I'm Emperor and 9 of Pentacles as well. Pretty joyless, right?

I lost my dad back in May of this year so I know how difficult it is. I have an anxiety disorder also so yes, I hear you!

That's a good way of putting it. :)

I don't really think of the World as final, perfect enlightenment. It can mean that, I suppose, but how often does that happen? It's more like completion - meeting a goal, and feeling good about it. It can come up for little things like losing ten pounds, or finally getting the closet organized. So we all have that energy. 🙂

I doubt you are joyless! With the emperor and the nine of pentacles I'd say you can exert too much control (emperor) over any kind of magic trying to come to you and I'd suggest pushing yourself to get out of your house more (or your comfort zone) as I'm sure it has everything you need for personal comfort (9 of pentacles). I'm new to tarot so if I say anything too suggestive please let me know as I don't want to accidentally offend anyone.

Totally agree with you. I guess what I envy is that energy the woman in the middle of the world card exudes when she's completed her goal. Both that card are the X of Wands which I mentioned as my worst self are the same in terms of number energy so its two different sides of how one handles finishing a goal. Relating to the X of Wands in my shadow self I can admit I will feel burdened, all ego, with completion of big things in group situations/the bigger picture.

We're Virgos. Accidentally offending and being blunt is what we do! And worrying, analizing, over analizing, self criticism, falling short of our own expectations of ourselves and criticizing ourselves some more for that....etc.

Your 9 of Pents interpretation is spot on, btw!

Thank you! I misread that you meant your emperor card was your worst self. Paired with you being a virgo I interpreted that as control freak, hah. Your attached signature is hilariously such a virgo way of thinking.

Control freak huh? One just doesn't wake up one day with an anxiety disorder. One freaks for years managing and educating muppets before it happens! LOL!
