Here's two cards that seem to share nothing other than coming from the same deck. The Hermit 9 and the 4 of pentacles. However, there are similarities. Notice how the man in the 4 of Pentacles is outside of a city. He has left with what he has to live outside of society.

The Hermit has his wisdom, his consciousness, his experience that he has also left with.

The 4 of Pentacles holds his life, what he loves, with each Pentacle strategically placed over his chakras.

The Hermit holds onto his wisdom in his cane, he holds onto his sun, but he does shine the path for others who choose to seek.

Yes, the 4 of Pentacles is possessive, but the lesson may be hold on to what you believe in, just as the Hermit did which is why he left. Maybe we're not yet worthy, or at least all the unconscious types aren't yet  worthy of his knowledge. Just as in the 4 of Pentacles.

Also, each representing number, 4 and 9 are powerful numbers on the Kabalah Tree of life if you choose to follow that.

I'm sure others will have their opinions.

In the olden days, Llewellyn used to publish a book each year called tarot topics I think, or tarot tips, but there were four or five articles with some seriously 'think about it' subjects.  One that changed how I view the cards and keywords in general was pick one subject and relate it to every single card. The person writing the article had just lost her mom so she related each card to the word Death.

What are the top 10 subjects we are asked to read about? The cards we pull must relate to that subject so it is a valid exercise to break through to being a better reader.

Thats a great way to study and learn, and practice.

The most common I myself am asked is always something revolving around work or business. The last reading I did for another person was about getting a job, which unfortunately I was right about. The cards were.
