Curiosity Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Hello guys! So, I’m new here and new to tarot as well. I've always been curious about it, and lately this curiosity developed and I decided to buy a deck and start learning. I just bought my first deck about two weeks ago and I am still starting to get acquainted with the cards. I find it really difficult, but I think it could be a good way of developing my intuition, which I have a hard time trusting. I hope it gets easier with time, lol. I am very happy to have found this forum as I think it will be a great place for learning and sharing experiences! Looking forward to it! Thank you for accepting me here!
LoveLightPeace Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Hi and welcome to TT&M @Curiosity Your first deck...how exciting!! What deck do you have? 😁
Alchemist Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Welcome @Curiosity! You couldn’t have found a better place to start your journey into tarot. I’ve found the people here to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful 👍🏻
xTheHermitx Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 welcome!!! Take your time with the cards!!! I think all of us can say that it took some time for the "bell to go off" I have been studying for 30+ years, and have had many different revelations over that time. The best thing is that it is an ongoing journey that you don't want to end!!! They will also lead you into other "worlds" of art, history, theology, sociology, geography etc...
stephanelli Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Welcome to the forum @Curiosity! I love your name btw. Curiosity is something we should all follow sometimes 🙂

What deck do you have? 😁 So, it ends up that now I have two 😬 hahaha Firstly I bought one called "The Golden Tarot", by Liz Dean. But I had a Secret Santa at work soon after that and the person who "got me" as their secret Santa had heard me saying I wanted to buy a deck. She went to buy me one, but all the ones she found were way above the price range we had set. So she bought me a gift card from fnac, cause we really don't know each other well and she was affraid of getting me something I wouldn't like. So I went there with the gift card and found another deck that I liked and that was exactly the price hahaha She was really happy I could find one in the end, even though we don't know each other well she seems to be a very sweet person, like a "motherly" kind of person I guess. I couldn't resist and got that other one as well, it's called "vivid journey". It's very colourful and has beautiful illustrations. Turns up I like this second one best. Later I found out that "the golden tarot" is more Marseille based, whereas the "vivid journey" is RWS based (I had no idea of these differences when I first bought one), and it ended up that I have one of each kind now hahah I would post a picture but I don't know if I'm allowed to post it here.

Yes, I expect it to be a long journey hahaha I have started a journal, where I write the possible interpretations according to the "standard" meanings of the cards and also other possible interpretations according to what I feel from the images. I think this might help me when I look back on my readings. What I find the most difficult though is the combinations, how a card nearby changes the meaning of another card.

I don't know if there's something alike in English, but in Portuguese we have a saying that goes something like "curiosity killed the cat" hahaha (it wasn't me, I promise! Cats lover here! 😅)

I still have many of my notes etc from over the years, and still reference them every once in a while
