Hi everyone!

My name is Anthony [groovdafied], and I'm very excited to have found this forum! Just a little story about how I got into tarot; I've always been fascinated with the paranormal, sci-fi, anything out of the ordinary. I don't see psychic or tarot, or the universe as a sci-fi theory or some party trick. I humbly believe that the universe is made from our consciousness. We bring our experiences to this consciousness, and we can communicate to it using energy, medias and our own hearts. Though everyone will have their own faiths and beliefs, and I absolutely respect everyone's point of views. Not one person is above the other, and we all should learn from one another to shape the answers to our questions in life.

One day, I was cleaning out my garage of my mom's old things, and I came across the Angel Tarot Deck by Doreen Virtue, Radleigh Valentine, and Steve A. Roberts. It wasn't quite as I expected, because I had the Rider deck in mind. The Angel deck focused on elements, and the pictures were very dramatic. Further studying the deck, I learned that the principles are the same, and have been learning since. I then picked up my own Rider-Weight deck, and even found my late aunt's Tarot of Marseilles later on!

I practiced with friends, myself and even on TV shows, which made it fun; that was most important! When practicing with friends, I steered away from the traditional spreads that I've learned from the books and just concentrated on three cards. Figured out what was being said, and drew another three cards. I felt that I had a system, and it felt right!

However, there was a concern within me. If my friends are asking me the questions, am I biased towards that question in my readings? Will I be looking for common answers to the question that was asked? So I came up with another system, to put my trust in the universe. I would ask the person to NOT speak the question, but to close their eyes and think of a place that is full of nature. Peaceful, tranquil, undisturbed bliss.

In front of them, they see a small beach with stones with a lake so clear and still, it looks like a giant mirror reflecting everything on the horizon. I ask them to pick up the stone in their mind, and use it to hold their question, then cast it out into the lake. Seeing the stone drop into the water is their question being sent to the universe. The ripples they see, is the universe sending its energy out to me to receive. At that point, I rely on the cards to tell me the story. So far, I would say I've had 85-90% accuracy with this method; and I feel I've gain better trust with my friends in the practice, as well as a few strangers too. Because most often times, people asking for readings will be hesitant to give out too much information, fearing that it will be used to give the obvious signs.

Wow, that's a lot for an introduction. I'm willing to share more details if anybody is interested. Until then, I'm hoping to meet new people, and further explore each other's talents!

OH! And check this out! I was so excited about joining this forum, and used my Rider deck and pulled a random card, and this is what I got! I think it's a great sign!
