Zorba Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Completely new to tarot, currently studying the Pollack book - lots to learn.
Zorba Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 It'll be fun learning - I'm reading about 1 card per nite on average.
lucksmith Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Hi @Zorba Welcome to the Forum. 2 hours ago, Zorba said: I'm reading about 1 card per nite on average. Take your time, no need to hurry. From my experience so far, and i'm not that long into Tarot myself, getting really into it is more like a lifes exercise and not being done in a season 🙂
Zorba Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 Yep, it makes sense to me (to take my time). I have to confess that I'm somewhat of a tarot skeptic - but thus far the symbolism as explained in my book is resonating with me. I feel particularly drawn to "The Fool".

You just have to sift out some of the questionable information etc about the art. Places like this, and other people you meet will help with that. I still try to focus on one concept a week to really get it down. Recently it has been Astrology, which is something that I fell like I have only touched the surface of after all these years...
annareina Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 👋! Skepticism is a perfectly natural part of the human condition, I hope your studies lead you to a deep connection with your cards. ❤️
Zorba Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) @xTheHermitx I have a far better "feel" for Astrology than I do Tarot, and I'd never even think about trying to figure it out on my own - Respect! {BOW HERE} Edited January 8, 2020 by Zorba
xTheHermitx Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 well...my plans are to get enough knowledge to understand it's use in esoterica...I don't think I will ever "master" it....I just don't want to miss use it or disrespect it!!
EvelynnMorragan Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Welcome! I'm new here, too! Good choice with the Pollack book. It's highly recommended and many people claim it is the best book on tarot.
Zorba Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 Its what the lady at the metaphysical store recommended when my wife went there to get a deck and book for me for Xmas. Makes sense to me!
LoveLightPeace Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Hi and welcome to TT&M @Zorba! I hope you're enjoying your tarot journey so far. Is the book you're reading by Pollack, 78 Degrees of Wisdom? I love that book!
Zorba Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Exactly that one. Its a bit of a slog - this stuff ain't easy! The book resonates with me pretty well, though.
Endy Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Welcome to TT&M, Zorba! This forum is a great place to learn tarot. I was a bit of a skeptic, too! I never really cared to learn tarot for years. Then about a year ago, I wanted to see what this is all about and now I am hooked! The Fool is a really great card 🙂
