zurgles Posted June 11 Posted June 11 (edited) I missed out on a cool ancient egypt inspired deck 😞 The Dream of Nile tarot. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamvisiontarot/dream-of-nile-tarot-golden-horus-edition I’ve been casually on the lookout for an ancient egyptian mythology inspired deck since two or three years into starting tarot but never found quite the right deck. I saw this one on a youtube video (the previous edition) and they mentioned the new one’s kickstarter. But the video was 2 months old. This is what I get for falling out of the loop with tarot! Hopefully she makes another edition. It might be a while though since she has an Alice in Wonderland tarot kickstarter launching soon. Well…I’m supposed to be studying the thoth anyway right now. I finished the majors in the DuQuette book a few months ago and fell off. Imma get back on that. I signed up for the newsletter anyway. edit: pics Edited June 11 by zurgles minor correction
Rose Lalonde Posted June 12 Posted June 12 (edited) Just backed the Sacred Spring Tarot. 'Sacred Spring' is a translation of the name of the publication printed by the Vienna Secession movement artists that inspired this deck. They included Klimt and Moser, who were in turn influenced by Art Nouveau. I have a weak spot not only for this art style but for minors that lie somewhere in the middle between pips and fully illustrated. The artist fulfilled several past Kickstarters, including The Cards Drawn Tarot, which was poker sized. Sacred Spring Tarot is tarot sized. (The artist is in the US, but for customs purposes, I'm not sure whether the decks will be shipped from there or directly from a printer's.) Edited June 12 by Rose Lalonde Typo :O

I deliberated over backing this deck for some time... I have Emma Zhang's first creation, the Dream Vision Tarot, which I love, and like you I'm always on the lookout for a deck inspired by Ancient Egypt. However, I realised that I didn't love the minors enough to make the investment so ultimately decided to let it go. They just didn't seem to have the same depth as the Dream Vision Tarot does. 17 hours ago, Rose Lalonde said: Just backed the Sacred Spring Tarot. I'm going to back this deck as well, I think it's gorgeous. I also love that the creator made a greyhound themed deck; I wouldn't use it myself but greyhounds (and sighthounds in general) do have a special place in my heart and I always appreciate it when people raise awareness of them!

Rose Lalonde Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) For anyone who might be interested in the 200 card oracle deck, School of the Heart, based on the 17th century lottery book emblems, it funded already and is cheapest in the first 24 hours. It posted 9 hours ago, so time yet. (There's also a cheaper 50 card version of the deck.) The School of the Heart Oracle Deck by Una in space — Kickstarter Edited 15 minutes ago by Rose Lalonde

What a pitty that one of the stretch goals is coloured edges. I could certainly do without.
