Ziev Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I did check past topics but did not see anything about this so in case I missed it I apologize for starting a new one. I’m finding different people determine these differently. There are some who use positive, positive neutral, neutral, negative neutral and negative. Then others who don’t use the positive neutral or negative neutral. Does this coincide with the different “ dialects” of Lenormand? I’ve been reading Björn Meuris, Andy B and (newly started reading) Iris Treppner. I am thinking I just need to pick one of the three until I learn and know it before I move on but which one? And which one to learn for the positive negative? I think only one way to learn them is best all the way through. How do you figure it out?
katrinka Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Andy B, hands down. I'd internalize the meanings first, then make your own list. If I'm not mistaken, we did it that way in one of Andy's old courses. Keep it as simple and direct as you can. If positive-neutral-negative works for you, there's no need for the subcategories.

Rose Lalonde Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 (edited) I'll second Andy's methods and really enjoyed his course. My copy of his book from 2014 does include 'positive-neutral' and 'neutral-negative' though. 3 hours ago, Ziev said: I just need to pick one of the three until I learn and know it before I move on but which one? Yes, it's confusing with Lenormand if you don't choose one method to learn. If one of the three authors you're reading makes the most sense to you, then I'd put the other two books away for a while. Doing readings with a method yourself is the best test of that method. Edited February 3, 2020 by Rose Lalonde
Ziev Posted February 3, 2020 Author Posted February 3, 2020 Thank you @katrinka and @Rose Lalonde. I do have his expanded book. I have been using his positive and negative attributes to the cards. But I had stoped reading his book awhile ago because I was not getting it. I was reading in a non-trad way but found it no different than tarot so stopped with the Lenny's. Somewhere along the way I read there is a 'way' to read them and so my interest was peaked once again and so here I am. I will give his book another go. Maybe it will make a bit more sense to me now. 😃

I only suggested keeping it to three categories in an attempt to simplify things.

Ziev Posted February 4, 2020 Author Posted February 4, 2020 Andy's book it is! I don't mind using his attributes. That was the only thing I really did get from him, lol. Thanks again!
