Hello! I’m new here and new to tarot! I want to get more spiritual this year so I’ve started to learn tarot and thought I’d join an online forum to learn from others as well as reading books 🙂 How did the rest of you get into tarot? 🙂

Welcome! I got into tarot in my pre-teens. I can't really remember exactly what got me interested but I do remember liking the James Bond movie "Live and let die" with Jane Seymour as a tarot reader 🙂

Hey there, Sunflower! Welcome! I got into tarot initially out of curiosity, to see if I was any good at it, and if it was in fact accurate in conjunction with my own intuitive abilities. I haven't looked back ever since!

Hi and welcome to TT&M @Sunflower0! 🙂

I got into tarot when I was going through some difficult times and unable to find a tarot reader in my area. So, I bought my first deck and I have been hooked ever since!

Hi @Sunflower0! Welcome to TT&M, it's great to meet you!

I only got into tarot about a year ago. I've been spiritual for over a decade, but divination never was appealing to me for some reason. Then about a year ago, I finally thought I would check out what this whole tarot thing was about. I was mostly just curious, but now I am hooked! I love everything about it.

I hope you also find great joy in tarot as well as this forum!

Hello, Sunflower0! :animated-smileys-signs-085:

Why oh why must every question asked of me result in a long story? I can't seem to help it, but since Sunflower0 you asked...

I had the interest, but I wanted a deck that called me. One day I was watching a video, that one that Christopher Lee narrates, on the Tarot. I saw a reader using this deck with a solid white back and a gold sun within a square --I was in love with the tarot (and to this day, the backs still have a say,if ever so slight, in the cards I chose). I didn't know the name of deck, so...well, I was on a mission. I was working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the time and on my lunch breaks, I would sometimes walk down to South Street and search the tarot card selections in the occult and new age shops therein--there were a lot of such establishments on South Street (as well as antique shops and tattoo parlors) before the internet was in it's infancy. I was in luck!--one day I found the deck, it was the Albano-Waite--I finally knew its name --that was my first deck--and the rest is history. I read for myself, initially, then for family and co-workers, branching out over the years with other decks, reading in coffee shops, online, and occasional fairs, and finally ending up with a little reading room in the back of my store (I was living in New York by that time). So, there it is.

Cool! I’m pretty much the same. I’ve also always loved tea leaf readers and learning about the future just for fun but when I heard of tarot and how it helps you with your own intuitive abilities I needed to learn more!

Yeah tarot has been helping me and a few friends during difficult times too, it helps me feel at ease/gives me good advice which I find comforting 🙂

Nice to meet you @Sunflower0.

I got into Tarot many years back... I had never really been exposed to such things, my family is very conservative. Then one weekend, my hubby and I were at a Pagan retreat (I'd abandoned Christianity by this point, unbeknownst to my family) and a lady there was doing readings for people. Her reading for both of us was spot on, and I was hooked. Shortly after that my hubby gave me my first deck.... and the rest is history. :bubble_bok:

Hello Sunflower0    WELCOME!    I hope you just hope in and start or contribute to posts!

I got into tarot over ten years ago, indirectly through Carl Jung and a discussion with a friend about Jung and Alchemy, and the more I researched, the more I was hooked.

Thank you! Yes I’m already posting my readings and getting such good feedback, I’m learning so much already 🙂 I must look up Carl Jung too!

hello!!  Glad to hear that you want to get into using the cards to gain insight to spirituality!!

I started my journey in my early teens, and got into tarot reading after learning the Runes...well I am still learning here 40+ years later. But both systems have completely opened my eyes to so much wonder about the world we live in!! I have learned about all religions. many new cultures...history; languages...it is an awesome experience!!

this site . was the first time i ever "Adventured out" into the world of meeting others who read. In my world, most people would consider me weird/Satanic/"lame"...on and on...if they knew I was into this. My aunt is the only other person I know who can relate to what I find on this journey...

hope to see you in some of the reads, and other threads!!

No, I don't think it called to him in the same way. He is actually a pretty good intuitive reader though... When I read for him he will tell me what he sees/feels from his cards.
