Arania Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I've been searching, but I seem to be too dumb to find the right keywords to google - I keep getting forums, reading offers and videos and other products vaguely related to Tarot. And, of course, a few sites I'm sure aren't quite legal. And a whole bunch of stuff for phones, which is not what I want at all. All I could come up with is Visual Tarot and Visual Oracle, but they are way too expensive as you have to buy them separately. Plus, it is not clear if it even supports unconventional deck sizes, they only show 36 and 78 card decks as options. My self made deck has double the number. I do not really need or even want card interpretations, spreads, decks coming with it, books, networking etc. All I need is something to deal cards with without spending hours uploading (as with the current website I use), and a possibility to do reversals as a few decks require those. Ideally,it should allow you to draw cards one by one instead of in fixed spreads. There should also not be a limit on decks. Also ideally, you can print from it with commentary (for my spellwork and RPGs) but that is not a must. Someone suggested Orphalese already, which is affordable and generally sounds like what I need, but I couldn't find any info on deck size there either. Just downloading the trial on my connection is something I'd rather avoid, so I hope some of you have experience with it.
KaiNO Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I've read your post several times, but I still don't quite understand what you're looking for. But I am curious though 🙂 You want a program or a webpage where you can specify x numbers of cards to draw from, where you can set y percent probability to draw cards/number reversed. And you want to see the cards/numbers you've drawn revealed one by one, as well as access to a comment field or two to use before you print it all out?
gregory Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Orphalese is the answer, it really is. You can choose the size you want to view. You can deal one card at a time. You can set the percentage of reversals you allow. I don't know about printing from it "with commentary" as I have never tried. But a screenshot of a reading is very easy and I seem to recall there is a print option but I've never used it. Purple scorp (one of their admin people ) has uploaded a couple of tutorials that might help: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo0qoQZIOdl6PzckdDgeNWA She will also answer questions if you go to their forum. Other than that I don't know what you mean by deck size. If you don't subscribe, you can only use three (I think) decks; if you DO, you can use literally hundreds (I know this.)
katrinka Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Yes, Orphalese. You can set up your own spreads with it, too. You have a good deal of leeway to make it work the way you want it to.
Arania Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 With deck size I mean I have decks with over 100 cards and decks with about 40 (some of the oracles). Most software only allows for 78 and 36 cards it seems. Thanks, I'll look at the Orphalese videos and it seems it is definitely worth downloading the trial.
gregory Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 You know - I never looked at numbers of cards. I'll try uploading a larger deck... OK - I just added a 90+ card deck (Aura Soma) and i seems happy enough !
Arania Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Oh great, thanks. I will download it tonight once the line is less busy. How does it deal with the Aura Soma being double sided?
gregory Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Good lord - I never even looked... one moment.... It only shows one side. I suspect that is one thing it couldn't handle (though actually my OWN Aura Soma (real life copy, 98 cards) is single sided, so....
Arania Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 I was not aware they ever came single sided... So I would probably need to add a second version of this deck with just the backs.
