Hay house send me a replacement for the damaged Light Seer's Tarot, so I SHOULD use that

BUT, for the times we exist in and the readings of this coming week I will need something with a little more honest substance.

So back to the Tarot of the Origins 🦉

Thank you for the thread, VG 🦥🌱

It's the Thomson-Leng Tarot for me.

This a reproduction deck done by Molly at curioustarot.blogspot.com several years ago (2012). I wish I had ordered two, because now I rarely read with it. I just don't want to mess it up, lose a card or something else awful. (None of these things have ever happened to any of my decks, but the anxiety persists.) Then yesterday, I came to the realization that I may as well live a little and truly enjoy this deck.

Tarot of the Thousand and One Nights for me this week.

After some internal debate I'll be using the Black & Gold Tarot - a RWS clone won't be a challenge, and I don't need any more challenges this week.

I'll be using the Hadar Marseille Tarot paired with Greek Rune Tiles. Sending a germ-free, virtual hug to all you DoWers.

@Madame Squee, the expression on that Fool's face is priceless! Glad you chose to use your deck.

This week I'll be using Le Veritable Tarot de Marseille, restored and reconstructed by Kris Hadar and published by Mortagne. Lee Bursten's The Marseille Tarot Companion will be a resource for reading with this deck. The oracle I'll be using is one I created myself called the Greek Alphabet Runes. AlaskaLaserMaid on Etsy burned the designs on cedar tiles for me. Today's draws are the Six of Staves and Zeta:

six%2Bof%2Bwands_0001.jpgzeta.jpg

Bursten assigns the word 'creating' to the suit of Staves and the phrase, 'Keeping it going' to the Sixes. After the previous challenge and imbalance of the Fives, the dust is beginning to settle and some progress is being made. When I scanned the Hadar card this morning, I initially labeled it Six of Wants instead of Six of Wands. That was a red flag I needed to heed. The flowers growing on the side of the staves are buds that are still rooted while the top and bottom blooms have been cut. Likewise, I must let go of my wants and focus on the fact that my needs are being fully met if I want to keep moving forward. Zeta is a letter that has been used to measure the vorticity of fluid or air, such as in whirlpools or tornadoes. It implies a busyness that drains my energy and dissembles rather than creates. For instance, watching the news for hours or being constantly attached to my phone may feel like I'm being constructive even though it's not. As Margaret Mead reminds me, "Human nature is potentially aggressive and destructive and potentially orderly and constructive." I have a choice in which one I nurture.

@Amberjune, those My Quality Time cards look perfect for what we all are experiencing right now. I've heard the CDC might come here to find out why the virus is expanding so rapidly. They could just call me and I'd tell them there are people who are ignorant (still thinking it's not a big deal) and people who are entitled (our church will meet if it wants to) that are needlessly exposing people. There are days I wish I carried a taser and had free license to use it! (Not a very Buddhist sentiment, I know, but the self-centeredness of some people drives me nuts!)

I'd like to join, please. I'll be working with The Magical Dogs Tarot this week. Thanks! 💞

We're doing okay here.   My husband and I are both working from home this week.   I just finished a 3 hour online training on how to do online chat so I can do it  from home.   😶

It's good, because we are all keeping track of how much we work from home and logging it so it's not all administrative leave (and yes, we are VERY lucky they are giving us that and not making us burn up our paid time off....).

I haven't had a chance to work with my deck yet, but now I have more of a schedule for when I'm working it should be better, because basically, we are on ALL the Time with our group.

The only issue we've been having is my father-in-law, who lives next door, who is having a hard time that my husband, his brother and I are all working from home, and are happy to get him groceries, or whatever, but he doesn't seem to plan in advance - every day he calls with something he needs.  Even when we check in with him in the morning, chances are he'll call in the afternoon with one or two more things for the list.   Ah well.    At least he's staying at home like he needs to.

VG I'm really glad you are working from home. One of our librarians tested positive, so I'm glad my daughter took a leave without pay when she did. She is worried about her work friends though.

Sending a big, gentle hug out to all. 🤗💓

I truly enjoy The Magical Dogs Tarot. I ❤️ dogs and can read/get into the scenes. I kind of purchased the deck for the lovely artwork and doggo scenes, but also when reading publicly, for some people, dogs may be less "scary" than some other tarot decks.

Placed cards last night using the "The Lost Man Spread" (Ana Cortez's The Playing Card Oracles, p 171-4), designed to show surrounding influences . The spread is supposed to be in a straight line, but for this picture, I placed the cards as such so they fit in the picture.

Since I'm reading for myself, I beforehand chose the Earth Alpha Female as the significator. Shuffled the cards well, then fanned them face up to find the significator. The cards to the immediate left and right are the cards of greatest influence and the two cards on either side, further out, are of lesser influence. The overall appearance/feel of the spread shows one major (Strength) to the right and a predominance of fire (clubs/wands) and sky (spades/swords), To keep it brief (I could expand, but no need here), I read that good energy and strength are with me, although the anxiety, fear, and thoughts of others are surely influential in the 4/fire, 10/sky, 4/sky, and 9/sky.

I did my interview spread with my chosen deck a few days ago and got really interesting results...I have some emotional baggage right now with the style of artwork in this deck, and it was like the deck knew that. 🙂  I ultimately interpreted the reading as the deck being ready to be a supportive tool for me when *I* am ready, like it will be welcoming me home. It was kind of fascinating.
