I've only been doing daily readings for, maybe, a week and I am left shaking my head, astonished at what a powerful tool this is for self awareness. I have been doing three card spreads, the first being myself, the second, the situation, and the third, the best course of action. I have quickly seen that I must always make any interpretation of the individual cards come from the Question and the real life circumstances. Yesterday, I drew the Hermit reversed on a day and to a question that both revolved around what I should do now as I was feeling grounded, sure of myself after a long period of doubt. When I saw the Hermit upside down I immediately thought, 'It's time to come down from the mountain, no need to be a hermit now, which agreed with the interpretations I then looked up on line or in my book. But one mentioned that the sage is expected to be above all the mundane weaknesses, truly honorable and so, reversed, might mean less than noble motives. So, in this reading, and it was for me, after all, I noted that explanation, for my education, but knew it meant nothing here. This seems to be part of all my readings already and the context, it seems, is the only way to keep the meanings from being completely overwhelming with all their conflicting and subtle possibilities.
