Barleywine Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 I've been experimenting with a "psychometric" approach to card selection for my spreads. I came upon an old AT post that talked about an Enrique Enriquez practice exercise in which you hold your hand over a shuffled deck and concentrate on a particular number position in the stack, trying to "psychically intuit" its nature. I expanded on this approach by meditatively deriving a series of numbers to use in picking cards for a spread. I realize some people already use this method when pulling cards from a fan, but I'm suggesting something a little different. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2020/05/23/psychometric-card-selection/
QueenOfSpades Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Huh. This is interesting. I may give this a shot.
Raggydoll Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 That’s similar to how I do many of my readings - especially one card readings. I shuffle the deck first to establish a connection, then I “see” in my head where the card I’m meant to pull is placed. I feel my way to that card by fanning that section of the deck and touching the cards with my fingers until I feel the right card (it has a distinct feel). It’s not uncommon that I’ll know what card it will be, or what energy it has. But I never do any actual counting. I suspect that counting is a method that will resonate more with some people and less with others. I’ve never been a ‘numbers’ person 🙂
