DaynaOracle Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 (edited) Greetings everyone! My name is Dayna and I got into tarot by seeing pick a card on YouTube and by practicing my intuition by purchasing my first deck the Universal Raider Waite deck to practice my readings. I strongly believe that you don’t have to go by the guide book just trust your intuition and try to study each image of each card and see what come to mind. Some times I look at the pretty decks to buy but I stop myself by still sticking to my first and only deck for I am still a learner and it would be overwhelming for me. I am glad to reach out in this forum for advice and different methods of readings especially during quarantine since social distancing and staying at home all day is making me bored. Random facts about me: I usually do my readings when everybody is asleep and I mess up my sleep cycle by staying up all night looking Online for tarot meanings I got my first deck by purchasing it at Barnes and Noble and sneak it behind my parents backs my mother found my deck and was okay with it my dad didn’t care cause I like to waste my money. Love ❤️ Dayna Edited May 29, 2020 by DaynaOracle
stephanelli Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Welcome to the forum! I totally get what you mean about working from intuition (although I will say that learning the traditional meanings over time really helped me!). We've got lots of people here who can help if you're stuck on a reading and want extra thoughts (you'll need 5 posts in order to do that though!)
seekjoy Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Hi, @DaynaOracle! I'm also new both to the forum and to tarot! I'm glad your mom doesn't mind your tarot cards. Be yourself, fiercely! ❤️
atomictangerine Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Hi there Dayna from a fellow newbie! I did the same thing with my first deck, looked at the pictures and wrote down my own interpretation and then looked up meetings afterwards. It has definitely filled up my time in quarantine too 🙂 Happy learning!
