Do you always notice when two figures on the cards look toward or away from one another? If you like cheeky and also like historic or minimalist decks, this is for you. Bergameri is well regarded for reproductions of Vievil and others, but also has been creating his own takes on TdM with the Midnight Deck (2020) and Tarocchi '23. This year (2025) it's the Hidden Tales Tarot. Facial expressions and posture rule the majors and courts. These are strong personalities, and it feels like the 'hidden tales' are in the way they interact in spreads. There's a sense of energy and fun. The minors are pips with small, simple pointers to their meaning, like the victory wreath in the 6 of Wands in the photo. There's a lot of white space on these cards, as you can see. There are some black silhouettes of landscapes and buildings on the bottom of some of the pips. (Overall, the pips remind me of the format of the Vachetta/Tarot of the Master - definitely pips, but with extras.)
From the deck description: "Find the lost, read the unknown - Hidden Tales Tarot is a modern tarot deck inspired by traditional card sets like Tarot de Marseilles, the Visconti-Sforza and other historic tarots."
