22: Libra 2 (3 of Swords)
JoyousGirl replied to Rose Lalonde's topic in Decan Walk 2025/26's The Decan Posts
As the last for Queen of Swords in this trio, within Libra - relationships - it is clear that this Queen is in the depths of Saturn's lesson. But soon to be released. 3 of Swords and the relationship of all 3 - Libra-Venus/Swords-Air-Cardinal/Queen-receptive makes sense. A sword cuts both ways - an instrument that can remove something like a tumour, or slice and shred things up within the intellectual/mind realm - and relationships. Whether male or female, 3 of swords is heartbreak or PAIN. Men who are stoic aren't men who don't feel. Saturn here is teacher of the important lesson - we learn it and (or?) suffer the consequences. Hope you're doing OK @Rose Lalonde. -

3 of Swords The second decan of Libra, a decan ruled by Saturn (Sorry for the delay in posting... I somehow have had the flu for the third time this season.) Post at TabulaMundi.com - DECAN WALK: LIBRA 2, THREE OF SWORDS β Part I β Tabula Mundi Tarot Omphta, the flaming heart, the heart weighed against the feather, and much more. Also, if you have Telos Tarot of 777, there's a lot here about the art on this card. Part 2 is up at DECAN WALK: LIBRA 1, TWO OF SWORDS β Part II β Tabula Mundi Tarot I'm a woman with both sciatica and a respiratory flu at the moment. Pretty moony... But no πͺ±!! (I did just give the dogs their quarterly wormer though) I find these posts of yours useful and interesting. I like classical astrology. Adding some things that Lilly noted for Libra. There's some thematic overlap with the moon. blood corruption, buttocks, gall stones, joints, placenta, coopers (barrel makers), upper rooms in houses, hunting grounds, arts condemners, orators, inconstancy Twice he mentions a room within a room or a chamber within a chamber. -

I've been absent, but I'm going to contribute something - which may or may not be of any value! I looked at William Lilly for some extracts and have adapted them. 7th House We're in the 7th house for this and the next 2 decans. Thus, areas dealing with: Marriage, Love Questions, Lawsuits and Controversies, Contracts, Wars, Duels, open Enemies, Bargains, Thefts, Fugitives, and all matters regarding Strangers (this would be immigrants or foreigners). Moon rules this first decan of Libra and some moon related significations are: Health: Strokes, paralysis or tremors, cholic, stomach aches, diseases in the left side, the bladder and members of generation; menstrual issues and liver in women, oedema aka fluid retention, gastro and other stomach issues, rheumatic diseases, gout in the wrists and feet; sciatica, worms, hurts in the eyes, Over-indulgence/excess, phlegmy coughs/pneumonia, seizures, tuberculosis, abscess, smallpox, and measles. I find measles very interesting because there's been a few cases coming in to my country from overseas recently. "Old" diseases might be a thing. So I'm thinking watch out if you're not vaccinated. I think there were some cases of smallpox in the US too. This is before now, but I think COVID was just a reminder that these things happen. Anyway, moon means wet-related sicknesses probably or fluids (blood etc) People: Moon signifies all women from the highest to the lowest hierarchies/castes in society: queens, countesses, ladies. Travellers, pilgrims. People with liquid in their occupation: sailors/mariners/seafood-related workers ie fishermen, brewers/barmaids/publicans and drunkards; postal delivery workers/couriers and other messengers, chauffeur/bus-driver/taxi- or uber-drivers; also midwives, nurses, watermen, water-bearers. millers, hunters, cleaners, and generally women with market stalls or coffee carts - those who carry commodities in the streets. I'm thinking of a certain Duchess that has been in the news lately. I'm not sure when it hit the news i.e. on eclipse/before/after. Now, Yes, some of these events are occurring out of the decan, but we just had an eclipse, so the activation of the moon might be prolonged, particularly in the case of the Duchess. I imagine she's hamstrung / 2 of Swords at the moment with The High Priestess indicating something secret coming to light but also some unknowable factors. -
2 of Swords The first decan of Libra, a decan ruled by the moon Post at TabulaMundi.com - DECAN WALK: LIBRA 1, TWO OF SWORDS β Part I β Tabula Mundi Tarot Excerpt: This year the Equinox, start of Libra, falls on Monday the 22nd, though the entry to each decan varies by a day or so each year. With the start of the first decan of Libra comes the Autumnal Equinox, here in the Northern hemisphere. It is a time of balance, where for a moment the hours of daylight and darkness are equal. It is considered the beginning of the second harvest season. The pagan holiday known as Mabon thus is a time that celebrates balance, and gratitude as we gather the fruits of our labors in preparation for winter. Part 2 DECAN WALK: LIBRA 1, TWO OF SWORDS β Part II β Tabula Mundi Tarot This theme of balance of light and darkness is why the day of the Equinox is for stringing the traditional necklace of witches, made with beads of jet (darkness) and amber (light). Part 2 is up at tabulamundi.com - https://www.tabulamundi.com/decan-walk-virgo-3-ten-of-disks-part-ii/ We are at the halfway point in our decan walk! From the post: "A decan walk is simply a conscious observance of the 36 astrological decans over the period of a continuous year. But it is a commitment to make an agreement with yourself that you will show up somehow for each and every decan, to observe it consciously. You decide how. It could be just reading these posts, but ideally, it also involves some reflection and thought, noticing how it applies to you in your world, or to your understanding of the astrology factors of the decan, or to your understanding of the meanings of the related tarot card. It is meant to..." read more -

Just adding that all the 10s lead up to either an Equinox or Solstice at the end. In the northern hemisphere, you're nearing the Autumn Equinox. (In the southern, nearing the Vernal/Spring Equinox.) Since the Golden Dawn Society, Waite, & Crowley had Autumn in mind, for the sense of wealth and investing I think of storing what we've harvested during the easier times for future use during winter. In a lot of ways, I find the GD/Waite/Thoth to share themes with pagan 'wheel of the year' decks due to following these decans. I'm adding the 10s I drew for myself, just because I included references to Yule, the Spring Equinox, Litha, & the Autumn Equinox -
10 of Pentacles/Disks The third decan of Virgo, a decan ruled by Mercury Post at TabulaMundi.com - DECAN WALK: VIRGO 3, TEN OF DISKS β Part I β Tabula Mundi Tarot Excerpt: The decan, and the sign, is ruled by Mercury. It is the last of the numeric disk cards, and last minor card of the numeric cards if you are going in order Ace thru Ten of each suit, in elemental or YHVH order of Wands-Cups-Swords-Disks. And it is the exact opposite to the actual last card of the zodiac, Pisces decan 3. So the card has a definite hint of endings and legacies. Part 2 is up - DECAN WALK: VIRGO 3, TEN OF DISKS β Part II β Tabula Mundi Tarot Reflecting on reaching the halfway point in our decan walk. I was visiting friends and family for a few days. At one place, there was a huge garden: flowers blooming, plants bearing fruit and vegetables. It was so lovely to walk around, picking delicious apples from the ground or raspberries straight from the bush. The garden is tended by an elderly couple (well, mostly by her), and there's already a discrepancy between the amount of work the garden requires and their physical ability to keep up with it. In the 9 of Pentacles, we see not only the looming seasonal decline in nature's abundance but also the decline of our own physical strength and independence. That's why we areβideallyβconnected, supported, and involved within a larger unit, as we see in the 10 of Pentacles. One bowl: lunch, plum cake and provisions. -

Adding some cards on the desk. (Top row is RWS inspired, and then the Thoth and GD decks, etc.) Because of Virgo being the Hermit, I think of reflecting on what we do have in our lives. Or even just the chance to be alive. Like in Joe vs the Volcano, when Tom Hanks is alone in the middle of the ocean. He doesn't know if he'll make it; it's not looking good, but suddenly there's awe and gratitude. -

Prudence was the decan of my mother's birthday. π I know I'm jumping ahead, but I like the clarity of the harvest season in Virgo decans. Crops growing taller, reaping what we've sown, and putting bounty to use. So, in Tabula Mundi art, this 8D's patient Prudence becomes Gain's harvest in 9D. Those honeycomb disks will become 10D Wealth's coins at the Hermit's stairwell down. A journey underground, reinvesting for future growth, like Persephone in Hades during winter. -

Rose Lalonde replied to Rose Lalonde's topic in Decan Walk 2025/26's The Decan Posts
That does seem like a 7 of Wands thing! The pride of heroic Leo matched with the destruction of Mars and the Mars major, The Tower. --- And also, not strictly astrology but although in RWS/Thoth the Sevens are at the sephira called "Victory," the art doesn't look like victory to me. In Book M, Meleen says, "Sevens show the difficulty to overcome in order to achieve victory." Which got me thinking about how we go about achieving in a situation where we think the odds are against us. Novels and movies are full of characters who let the end justify the means, usually with bystanders getting hurt. That goes along with the connection you made to the Hero leaving a path of destruction. When I made a tarot for myself with minor cards named in relation to the sephira, all the Sevens say "Must Triumph" as my best attempt to express the process of achieving victory against the odds. Wands being Will in that deck, the 7W is "Will Must Triumph." That could be anything from the positive side of developing what it takes to succeed, like impulse control or self-confidence, to the negative side you talked about. What's that quote, something like, "If one person calls you a jerk, just move on. If everyone around you is a jerk... you might be the jerk." --------------- Part 2 is up at TabulaMundi DECAN WALK: LEO 3, SEVEN OF WANDS β Part II β Tabula Mundi Tarot -

Recently, I listened to this talk by Christopher Rentsrom. At one point, he speaks about the shadow of the heroβthe unheroic side of this archetype: killing people in rage or by accident, or withdrawing from a battle like Achilles. I wonder if this is where the "dark, but also ugly and/or sad" aspects that Maleen is referring to stem from. So maybe no Saturn connection is indicated, but rather an acknowledgment of the polarity of the glorious hero. -
