Overview

06: Taurus 2 from April 30 - May 10 (6 of Spheres) Catching up here! It was an eventful, if not busy, span of time during this period. This decan certainly reflects the energy implied for Moon in Taurus. My last day full time at my last service was the 29th and my first day was May 3rd. The comforts of material pleasure are inherent in this card, but this comes with a warning: the "approach to perfection ... is transient" according the the Book of Thoth. The figure in the Liber T looks as if he is lording over the characters in the cards below as if to say that success is there, for now. Taurus tends to be immobile, resistant to change. Learning from mistakes is not a fixed Taurean trait. In order to enjoy continued success Taurus must learn to change like the phases of the moon in which he is exalted. This irony is echoed in the OORS. The cornucopia flowers beneath the crescent moon only temporarily. The lesson here is to enjoy the fruits of success in the present, for they may be short-lived.

Finalizing up this decan for myself. With the manifestation of healthy boundaries I am able to embrace energy exchange with others. I see myself through loving eyes And am able to maintain love in my feelings. When loving what I feel, I am able to manifest integration of my beliefs, And go directly to my heart for where I belong. BE-ing where I belong, I finally inner-stand, My thoughts and words create my reality. My mind is the scribe to my heart. I receive back what I send out. I trust all that I receive is meant for me. I lean into my inner-knowing To reclaim my Self. Declaring Self-authority Allows me to act on my heart and values. By protecting my feelings, I can share my heaven here on earth.

That makes sense. I'm a bit of a pessimist sometimes🙃, and egged on by the minors that share his decans. But you're right; he has an intensity and active nature that can be used to master these decans when properly focused. A good reminder for me, thanks.

I would theorise that the Knight/King of Swords’ traits are exactly what we need to master these decans successfully. We are asked to be rational, dexterous, and active. Just as the Queen of Cups is assigned to the decans she is equipped to handle. The reverse/shadow aspect would show how we can perpetuate or amplify the challenge: being fickle, inactive, and slaves to our thoughts.

In addition to Telos Tarot of 777, I have the decks above out for this decan. Crowley refers to blighted crops for the Thoth 7D, and the background is "spoiled" vegetation. It goes well with what I was reading at tabulamundi.com -- Telos referring to a killing frost. Both deal with damage to food supply, and though we may take something that's gone bad in the back of the refrigerator as a slight inconvenience, this is the specter of no sustenance at all. Something that many deal with today, and everyone did, if we go back far enough. Tabulamundi.com refers to a possible spoiled potato crop in the RWS 7 of Pents. That would tie in nicely with the Thoth. I often see RWS readers refer to this card as pensive or a pause. SKT's "The Gardener" is Wen's own thing. There's no blight, and the accompanying book says this is inner gardening, and the possibility to work with "low" magic using herbs, stones, roots, oils and charms made of natural materials. -- A possible activity for this decan? Ballast has all the sevens as needing to triumph over adversity. Despite the shape of Saturn dominating the card, new shoots are trying to overcome the high possibility of failure. The young are targets of predators, fewer defences. A new court. Personally I consider this the least positive of the courts, since it matches the decans of Failure (7D), Interference(8S), and Cruelty(9S). I think often the cruelty is pointed inward. A personality that feels trapped. (Likely he's reading the news too often! Ask me how I know. 🙃) The Universe ruling the decan is interesting. Often we associate it with positive completion despite its Saturn correspondence. There's a weight to The Universe/World, but as the final major there's also a sense of arriving. (In the other direction, this is the first path in pathworking up the middle pillar, so, you know, you only need to travel the path of the Universe at the start, no pressure. 😜)

Congratulations! It appears the timing of all this for you is no coincidence. This is an area I hope people are waking up to. What do we spend our money on and is it a wise, long-term investment or a temporary indulgence? I believe people, at least here in the States, are conditioned to consume for the ultimate benefit of most everyone else, but themselves, however, that is another topic not for this space. Yes, a great way to describe it.

Definitely felt a shift a energy beginning April 30, as it was the day after my last full time shift with my service. I started on May 3 with my new service. This period coincided with beginning a new full time position. It was not overtly planned, perhaps it was subliminal on my part. Over all the vibe is better at the new place. It's larger and well organized. No more micromanaging, and I'm with a career fire department and again!

Alert to the energy rather than simply living through it is a great way of putting it. That the symbols and cards for this decan are giving you a particular perspective and clear attention. I will try to focus on this more. I sometimes let the energy of the moment lead to assumptions and moods carrying me along a certain mental direction before I’ve realized the energy that started the ball rolling. Your fortunate coins are certainly on point for the decan, but so is this! The earth is material, the body is. To me good health and good stewardship of the earth are just as relevant as finances and succeeding at work, etc. One of the things I liked about the recent tabulamundi posts was the careful focus on growing plants. There’s no 6 of Disks anymore if we’ve polluted water and air and degraded resources you mentioned. (Actually what you said about not valuing anything but continually consuming anyway, that’s my definition of The Devil card, not in a religious evil way, but in a constant craving for More but without a value placed on any of it. ) Whoops I got a bit carried away, but I think you’re right to point this out when we ask what material success looks like. When actions are unsustainable and harmful, that doesn’t sound successful.

I've had the Liber T and Thoth cards on the wall in my little workspace. Something I have been doing is spending money on myself on things I value. However I'm not flushed with cash, quite the opposite in fact. Yet I've been quite the ascetic for a few years and this changed for me over the past month or so, where I feel I've been rather acquisitive. There's been pleasure in that though, but of course it's passing, and possibly risky. I've acquired the Oracle of the Radiant Sun, which I had seen previously somewhere but not known the title. Thanks to this appearing in the decan walk activity, I've acquired it! Further, while I don't read tarot books these days I have purchased today a Tarot book of value to me, to go with an old, somewhat obscure old deck of mine. Something else rather interesting is that over the last couple of days I've been finding coins when walking. The first event I found $4, and the next event I found $1. This is wonderful. The negative side of pleasure through purchasing things was discovered going to the rubbish tip. I've studied some aspects of waste and been keen on the circular economy, but seeing the things in and getting thrown in the giant bin the other day and looking across to the pile of garbage was quite traumatic. I realised that people don't take pleasure in things for very long - or value them - and the resources of the earth that are destroyed. That may not be related to this decan, but I feel it is. Earth's resources are valuable, but limited and increasingly degraded, and being destroyed by those who don't really value things, but keep churning over and throwing things in the garbage. All for economy and pleasure - possibly status. I want to live on a farm, but you now have to be wealthy to do so! And the wealthy take from the poor, more than the reverse! Anyway, pleasure through some coins and things I will love and value, that will teach me something, guide me, and connect me. I hope.

I am enjoying the Telos Tarot, Ballast Tarot, Star Tarot and Haindl Tarot, along with the Elemental Tarot I posted. I have the Thoth and RWS decks available, but have put them aside for the moment. They may reappear. We'll see. I have had some very profound shifts in energy these past nine days. It has been very helpful to be doing the Decan Walk for I have been alert to the energy rather than simply living through it. That may sound unexpected coming from an active energy healer, but focusing on the energy of the cards, the elements, and the astrology combined is not a regular activity for me.

I'll be adding the new thread in a day or two when the post goes up on tabulamundi... Until then, does anyone else have thoughts about this enjoyable decan of Material Success before we move on to the 7 of Disks/Pents? How have the last 9 days been? Do you have Telos or Tabula Mundi out? Or what decks are you working with at the moment? Just curious to hear more before we leave Taurus 2. 🙂

I am using more decks than this one, but for my sanity at the moment I am only adding a photo of a deck not posted here already. Working with the Elemental Tarot right now is giving me lots to consider. Fascinating. Thank you for posting. I’ve been following her website for awhile now. I think I’d like the book. It definitely has a different energy to it.

Also, welcome to new members who've joined and to anyone who's reading, having found us via Mel's newsletter. Taurus 2 feels to me like being centered and knowing the way forward, even if there's some hard work ahead. That sense of purpose and a feeling that it will get done, or as we say here, 'She'll be right."

In addition to Telos above, I've got these on my desk this month. It's been good to see them together. (Certainly cheerier than the 5 of Disks!) The SKT 6 reminds me of RWS, but in a more neutral way. I love Tabula Mundi's pomegranates slotted pleasingly in place - the feeling of orderly creativity and success. The Thoth - the colors honestly feel a bit dark for me for this decan, but the balance is definitely there, with rose cross at center. In Ballast this card is "Balance of Matter" and shows the middle pillar on the Tree of Life. The Noblet 6 has balance and harmony as well, and Le Pape and La Papessa highlight the connection between the majors. A moment when everything feels 'as it should be' -- not necessarily an excited feeling, but a highly satisfied one. Also, our last decan with the Prince of Disks/Knight of Pents. He's at his best here, I think. I'll likely do a reading for this decan, but may just post it to my journal and link there.

Hello ... I'm jumping in a bit late for the 2025 Decan Walk. I'm using the Telos 777 + Tabula Mundi for this years Decan journey. It's been quite insightful working with both of these decks in the talismanic form and esoteric perspective. Regarding the dates of the decans, I'm following the decans using Sidereal Astrology dates. This places the ingress of the sun signs back quite a few degrees, which at this time the Sun sign is in the 2nd decan of Aries. I've created a personal decan date "system" to align with the Sidereal astrology dates. I don't want to ruffle any feathers and will place my comments following the tropical sign placements that is being followed in this club. 🙂 This will be good as I can study the decans of Aries/Taurus all at once.

I've also been looking at other things, including the marvellous Lynda Hill's Sabian Symbols. I bought her book on the Sabian Symbols about 12 or so years ago and I knew it would fit into the Decan walk. I can't find it now (I think it was an e-book), but fortunately she has a website with a wealth of information for anyone interested.
