Welcome @Scozz Glad you found us here from Australia Please join in existing discussions (it's fine here to post in old threads) or start new ones with your questions, things you want to know. When you get to 5 posts around the forum, you get more freedom in posting and also can access the reading areas, if you would like to get or give a reading. We also have monthly exchanges where we all read for each other. Also at that point, you can take out a journal thread if you want to record notes / your readings / use however you want. If you have any problems around the forum or need any help, just post in the thread here. We are a friendly community 😀

I'm a 49 yr old Tarot beginner who's keen on learning the ropes and understadning this space. I've come at this sideways and I'm trying to understand the practice properly. I'm here to learn mostly about reading methods, alternative spreads, card and spread meaning/intention. I have bought the New Earth Tarot deck and handbook from Kate Silver (round cards) which I'm truely loving. I'm doing a rough 3 card spread at the start of eack week atm and recording these in a log. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer me. I'm really glad to be here. Cheers, Corey

Before the upgrade, it was possible to choose a specific theme where you then could choose color for the top and bottom of the website. For me, TT&M is purple/violet, and I miss my color every day 😳 Is it possible to get this back? It's probably a plugin in Invision that needs to be updated. I don't remember which theme that did this, whether it was Uniform, Chameleon or Vanilla.

@DanielJUK Thanks for the tip, will definitely try it. I didn't put a space in the username, I used underscore. I tried it on my computer and my phone. A mystery. Anyway happy that I finally did it. 😀

I simply cannot believe that the tarot cards were "created" for any one purpose. Servitors, chaos magic or any other. One individual may have created one deck for that purpose - but not the whole shebang. As Misterei says:

We are moving off-topic here, this section is for tarot in media and we are talking in this thread about the tarot featured in "Cooper & Fry". We can discuss all our fave TV shows in the off-topic section Chatter Room (note: this is a subscriber area) There is an ongoing thread there about what TV shows are you currently watching?

Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack - This is my first tarot book, so I could be a bit biased. It opened my mind about how to read and understand tarot. It is beginner friendly. Mary K Greer books are super. I used the workbook when I started to study the cards. The book on reversal is a must. Tarot Symbolism by Robert V. O'Neill - I read it several years ago. It is informative and more on the academic side. I will re-read it again. (English is not my mother tongue, so sometimes a bit difficult for me to understand). Although some books have ebook version, I still prefer paperback.

What do I need to pay attention to today: The past, and how I left the place of my birth to become the person I am today. — I met up with an old friend yesterday and we took a trip down memory lane. We agreed that we never appreciated the beauty of our home region when we were young. It’s only by living away (moving away from it to seek fulfilment and independence) that we now value what we had. There is a sense of sweetness in the cards - the sweetness of memory and return to the past - but also loss: the woman in the 9oP is alone. I don’t have a community.

Hi @auoto , welcome to the forum! I think Tarot opened the doors to the unconscious, or the spiritual, for many of us. I started when I was 14 (roughly around the time I turned to paganism), and it surely influenced my whole development... culminating with me doing Jungian therapy for 10 years, and then becoming a psychologist myself! So yeah, Tarot can definitely be a awakener! By the way, I am curious about your daily readings! Do you keep a journal? How do you find them helping you in your daily life?

I love British crime/detective series, and have watched many of them via BritBox. Hmm, I should make a list sometime - it would be quite long! Some of the older ones were really very good (like Wycliffe) and I was sad when I finished watching them all the way through and had no more to look forward to. But I am sure what I've seen is only the tip of the iceberg! The last detective series I recently binge-watched for a few weeks is A Touch of Frost, all 16 seasons/series. Quite good! Also love British period dramas. No one does period dramas like the Brits! All the old historic castles and stately homes show up in numerous productions and it's fun to spot one I recognize from some other show, even though they've put different furniture in it or shoot the scenes from different angles. I even once found a blog by a fashion historian who would spot the various dresses in the BBC's collections and post screenshots of the actresses from different shows and movies all wearing the same dress, pointing out which ones were altered and how. I wish I could find that blog again. Not sure if it was the same blog or another one, but there was also a series of blog posts that critiqued the hairstyles worn in popular period dramas and how accurate they were or not. I just finished watching The Other Bennet Sister and enjoyed it a lot. Combine crime or mystery with period drama, as in The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, Cadfael, Endeavor, Poirot, all the Sherlock Holmes adaptations starring Jeremy Brett, or even Father Brown, and I'm in heaven!

Welcome to the community @auoto Glad you found us here 😀 Getting a deck from New Orleans sounds like one of the coolest places to get one. I am glad it spurred you on to your spiritual awakening. I am sure many other have had a similar experience. Personally, for me, the tarot opened my unconscious somehow when perhaps I repressed my whole intuitive side. So it began a process where I found a new spiritual path. It perhaps opened my mind to many things I've explored since.

Welcome to the community @sophie_moon Glad you found us over here 😀 Were you trying to have a space in your name? Sadly the forum doesn't let you register with a space. However when you get to 5 posts, you can then edit your name in account settings and it lets you have them! We don't understand it either but you can edit your name at a later date so don't worry 🥰

Hello all, I found a tarot deck in New Orleans about 3 months ago in a little shoppe. I knew nothing about it before then. I have done a daily reading ever since. I am a little tripped out about the quickness in which I have found myself opening my mind. I am currently working with a spiritual advisor that has a PhD in Jungian Psychology. I have been open to the idea of collective unconscious but this is the first time iI have really dived in. A little freaked out tbh. Curious if anyone had any spiritual awakenings like this...

That's a good idea! I will look for some flip through videos. I'll also see if I can find anyone actually using the deck, I love seeing decks in action! Thank you so much for everything you have shared so far, @Tanga !

🤣 Ever read Terry Pratchett? Death, in Terry Pratchett's Universe, is quite a character. Dead pan humour 🙃 with straight, literal talking (1). Almost autistic. The other thing that came to mind is a line from a poem by Richard Tillinghast: "If you love the body - you must know the bone, that ribs & peoples it". I like the breakdown of imagery. Thanks.
