I’ve found the cards beautiful and intuitive, but I share worries about cultural appropriation and the authors’ commercial turn.

I've not seen this. I don't know whether to be relieved or annoyed by it if it indeed means trends are changing. Seems like one more way to PERFORM AUTHENTICITY rather than actually be authentic. So there's the trope of everything is rainbows and white light. things don't happen TO you they happen FOR you. And the trope of brutally honest no holds barred. Which begs the question-- what does this "brutally honest" reader do with good cards? Occasionally relationships DO work out🤪 Neither trope is particularly useful. 48 years of reading has taught me that brutal honesty just hurts people. Honesty + compassion = good reading.

I can only speak for Vinted, which now operates in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy (did I miss one?). The expansion (or fusion) happened just two years ago or so. I sell and buy clothes and cards on this platform. As always, you need to look closely at the item being sold. If something doesn't appear like new on the photos it probably isn't even if the seller describes it as such. This discrepancy between description and reality is the most annoying part of the dealings, in my opinion. The bargaining is an interesting trend. I understand, that it is frustrating for people who want to make money from their second-hand items. But it merely reflects the oversupply of stuff, hence your are usually offered a ”fair value” for your items. I'm not talking about offers that are outrageously below the initial price, of course.

Oh. Now I feel hickish - from what I saw here, it is very much like the old kleiderkreisel was, with haggling being par of the course while disturbances are few - however, I do not feel as save to give a clear for the place as I did before, now knowing it went way past a regional thing already! Caveat emptor, as you said.

Vinted started as a second-hand fashion marketplace in Europe. You could sell what you wanted to get rid of from your wardrobe and then other household items were added. It's a rival to eBay. It was very popular but from my friends who use it regular, has become a pain to sell on because people try to get you to change your price constantly and there are loads of scam issues. It became like eBay, when it was originally so much better than other sites. I don't know for certain about deck buying and selling on it but the same rules as eBay apply here and be careful of fakes / pirated decks. Just keep your senses about you on that site. This thread was started as a reference thread for deck sales and offers from shops across the world, that some forum members requested. We are moving away from that intention, so let's go back to it's purpose.

Thank you for the response and information. From my end it looks like US sellers. The prices are in US dollars. I wonder if there is a separate site that caters for buyers here or there, whichever country the browser is in. Their TV commercials are all over (at least on Hulu.)

@fire cat pickles It used to be kleiderkreisel.de - it is a second-hand plattform with an overwhelmingly trustworthy userbase. Concerning the lookout-position, instead of fraud 'n stuff (exceedingly rare up to date), it'd be a mild chance of language barrier plus settling the cost for sending stuff overseas. The primary utilised payment function is paypal via friends - if someone offers that, chances are they bear no ill-will but are instead a longtime user - look at their accounts age to verify that detail.

Has anyone checked out or had any experience with vinted.com? There seem to be some very good deals. It may be a case of "you get what you pay for" or caveat emptor...

Yeah ...1968 ...I graduated from high school the year before that! Welcome to the forum! Interesting to hear a 'newbie's' take on tarot. What have you been discovering? Do you read just for yourself thus far, or have you done readings for others?

Yes, I have heard this concern on the internet too! I am not sure how much CBR's collaborators are connected to native communities… nor how much the concepts used in the deck are indeed appropriated from native cultures, or are just more general archetypes with a shaman-y clothing, so to speak. I guess I'll have to see it for myself. And finally, I am getting the pocket edition of the deck! I am very attracted to the artwork, and I confess my only experience with a CBR's deck (The Wisdom of the Hidden Realms, which remains to this day one of my favourites) has been very positive, so I want to give it try. Ohhh interesting! What happened? Did you try to read with the deck? I can’t wait for my copy to arrive, so I can discuss it better

Hi @Muir ! Welcome to our community, and I hope you like it here! Personally, I am glad forums still exist! I don't like social media (been there, done that and got sick of it lol), so spaces like TT&M feel like a little digital haven, where wholesome conversations can still happen!

Hi You all :) Just few words to introduce myself. I started to work with tarot few years ago as a not-so-young newbie, so as to say Born in 1968 (💾), I didn't even think that Forums still exist... and I'm glad to have found that this one do. I came here by chance, a sort of serendipity, but I hope to be able to give my contribution.

This one is proper, extremely so. Uncluttered, direct, advantageous for the reader - and the cell-analogy! I like this a lot.

I had that happen too! Decided to keep it, it was a palm reading thing. Not sure why one would need a deck for that, but... who knows! Not in the mail, but I went to a Vintage fair last Sunday and found an Ancien Tarot de Maresille deck (Grimaud). Nothing unusual in itself, the reference number implies it was printed between 1970 and 1980. The box itself had some water stains, but the cards are untouched. They had been shuffled, inexpertly, because the cover cards had been shuffled into the deck. All the cards are present and accounted for, and I doubt it has actually been read with.

I might have considered it - had I been able to see what I would be getting. Why not load my "plan" without requiring the email, and not let me actually DO it without one ? But more seriously - the appearance doesn't help; does this draw anyone in ? ? Headings would have been easier to assimilate.
