I'm glad to be a part of this community. I am new here and would like to do tarot exchanges. I am currently trying to deepen my knowledge of the tarot meanings, and am always finding new correlations. I'd love to see what everyone's takes on the cards are. I've been reading tarot for about 16 years now. But I am by no means an expert lol. I think there is always something new to learn. I love to collect tarot and oracle cards. I haven't counted my cards before, maybe I should do that soon 🧐 I know I have 20+ at this point. I only use about 2-3 decks consistently though and one I use everyday. I would love to learn cartomancy as well, I think that would be really fun. Other than tarot, I have 3 cats. I love to go on bike rides when I have to the time to. I am trying to get back to my creative side lately as well. I'm curious what everyone's go-to deck is? Mine is the druidcraft and ethereal visions tarot.

1) But that's just the thing about being "A witch" seeing the magic in the mundane 🙃. Makes like a lot more exciting! 2) It's quite natural to be slow during winter. Winter is, as Winter does - everything hibernates/sleeps & rests.

My schedule has been so heavy the last couple of years, that I haven't had time for rituals and craft, even during weekends. I miss it all deeply, though nowadays I take a more 'non-theistic' approach (I remain open, should my own perspectives change overtime, but it's where I stand right now). Strangely enough, Sundays are one of the few days I happen to be able to clean my home, and I have been developing a sort of ritualistic feeling to it… Focusing on the small things of everyday life, that have no glamour and no apparent magic, sometimes makes me feel very in the moment and in touch with something… beyond. I can’t explain it. It ends up being a ritual without meaning to be one (albeit a tiring one, I’ll give you that, lol). There is also the fact that it’s winter here, and my energy levels change during it. Everything seems slower, more subtle to me. I need to rest a lot and just to be in silence. I too love gardening (in pots, as I live in a flat) and watching nature as it changes during seasons. It's winter here, cold, but the sun is already reborn and growing stronger each day. I can see some nature stirring, even though we are still getting a lot of rainy and dark days. But nothing compared to May/June, that's when the cold and dark really hit us where I live.

Hi crew! Thanks, fire cat! This week will be the last of my Thothy decks, Liber T: Tarot of the Stars Eternal. Besides being a surreal-ish version of Thoth illustrations, it also includes esoteric images assigned to the decans on the minors. I’ll be using Scion’s Handy Guide to the Decans by Shawn Nacol, which he created and generously shared on Aeclectic back in 2005 when the deck came out, to try to figure them out. (It’s a lot of information that I probably won’t do justice to, but I really appreciate it.) Suits are scepters, cups, swords, and spheres. Courts are knight, queen, prince, princess. Interview time: What is your most important characteristic? 5 Swords, Venus in Aquarius, human with the face of a dog + poor person holding a peacock + woman spinning The deck is really its own ideas, which throw other deck ideas for a loop! What is your strength? 5 Spheres, Mercury in Taurus, Osiris with the head of a bull, in the middle of its horns stands the goddess + plowing and working the earth + woman with a child And the tattwas. Another 5. Not only are its ideas a challenge, its physical manifestation, the artwork, is a challenge too. Your weakness? 3 Scepters, Sun in Aries, A woman in green standing on one foot + two-headed with a lotus on its head. Don’t see where the bird theme comes from . . . And the scepters are lotus stems. The deck goes forward and doesn’t wait for the user to catch up! What can you teach me? Prince of Swords, air of air, Sun in Capricorn and Venus and Mercury in Aquarius (the offset court decans with their planets. Interesting.) This is very much like the Thoth illustration, just in this artist’s style. It can lead me down an intellectual rabbit hole, like it did Scion! How can I learn it? 4 Spheres, Sun in Capricorn, a wise woman and a banker gathering his money + having before her book the tail of a fish Goat head for Capricorn and the elements. I can learn a lot of esoteric nonsense by being studious and holding on to the information in physical form (books and decks) I already have. What will be the outcome of our work together? 3 Spheres, Mars in Capricorn, the face of a bull on the body of a man + a man throwing a javelin at a bird above two women embracing a single man This illustration is the cover of the box. Another Capricorn, 4 and 3 Spheres. Two women embracing a man, like the Lovers? I will appreciate this deck as an artifact: something that I’ve had for a long time and want to keep. And as a work of art, odd as it is. Ok, well, we’ll see about that! The starry background is always there but kind of subtle. In case I’m not clear, the descriptions on the first line (with the +s) are info from Scion’s book. The descriptions on the second line are just my observations of the illustrations.

I used to 'interview' each deck and record the questions and which cards came up. While this was fun to do, I found it didn't really work for me. So many of the decks resonated differently in use than they implied they would in the interview. So I don't do that any more. Instead, I handle the decks a lot before I start using them. If there is a good book that comes with the deck, I read that. I look at each card, and try to get beyond my first impression of the card. Once I feel ready, I do a few readings for myself with the cards. And go from there.

Such endeavors can be beneficial, as they keep us active and involved with others. But at times they can become a burdensome demand. Comfrey has historically been used in salves and poultices to treat bruises and sprains. Its message is: "There can be too much of a good thing. Stop. Step away. Soothe yourself. Cut it down and it roars back to life." Like this herb, when we cut down our work and take time to rest, we can rejuvenate ourselves. Wren is a tiny bird with a big voice. It reminds us that people don't always accept what we're trying to tell them, but we need to have the confidence to stand up for what we need. Trying to please others rather than taking care of ourselves only leads to resentment, burnout and health issues. As Anna Taylor said, "You teach people how to treat you by deciding what you will and won’t accept."

I've always related both the traditional RWS Devil card, and this gorgeous, inspiring song, with addiction / recovery. The nice thing about this track is it is up to one's own interpretation of what the river equals. For the sake of this post, I'm going with a deck from my collection that is quite straightforward. Bohemian Gothic Tarot, Baba Studios, 3rd edition. What's your take on this song?

I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet, but I'd also recommend Vinted. It's easy to spot counterfeits if you know what you looking for and offers a lot of options; including some Indie decks ( I got my BPH's Witches Tarot through Vinted) and occasionally OOP can be found too.

To be honest, I dedicate two weeks up to a month of extensively using a deck to get a feel of its energy. I also enjoy doing Deck studies where I take notes on Symbolism and the guidebook/ LWB it came with and try to marry the two :).

I granny shuffle. Basically dunk the cards face down on your surface and just mix and spread them around with your hand(s). It's the only way that I've found to be able to shuffle for reversals and keep it truly random but does require more room then just riffle shuffling.

Yes and No. My Sister whom I love snd respect can touch and shuffle my cards, but not my mother. I think it's very much to do with a threshold of trust and comfort for me. I'm also a private person in general and don't shuffle in public ( besides I have limited range of mobility due to my disability so I only shuffle at home or only would in closed spaces)
