Wow! These posts are always awkward for me. I never know what to say and feel it always sounds silly or contrived. So let’s start out with 3 truths and 3 falsehoods about me and see if you can ascertain which is which I live in New York in a tiny shoebox apartment I get anxiety if my coffee cup gets low Without my morning can of Mt Dew my day sucks Im a crazy cat lady I have a suicidally inclined dog Going tiny and traveling from festival to festival reading cards is a dream of mine. I am probably doing this wrong. It was suggested at sign up to make an intro but I could not find where to type so I have started this as a topic. I have dabbled in card for years but consider myself a beginner. I am hoping to learn from other forum members.

Hello, I am new to tarot, bought my first deck (gilded royale) a few months ago. Ever since I have been so impressed by this seemingly magical practice. I mainly do spreads (3 cards) on myself and friends. I have been wanting to join an online community to help with new spreads, interpretations and ways of practicing. I am very excited to learn more and to help others if I can.

Hi, I'm Mxrtizia, I've been practicing tarot for 22 years and reading for others for 13. I learn new card systems by writing the meanings directly on the cards. I believe this helps me bond with my deck and it makes learning key meanings manageable. I am joining with hopes to make new friendships with other diviners and to share my own tarot journey online. Thank you for keeping the spirit of the community alive!

I've finally found my way here, so many years after Aeclectic shut down! I see a few familiar names, which is so nice. I've always gone through on and off phases with all my divinatory interests, but without AT to spur me along this was a very, very long off phase. Anyway, happy to be here!

Hello, I'm new here and would love to introduce myself. I'm going to follow the email template suggestion. -Name: Natalia-Pronouns: Naty-Do you read Tarot or other Card systems?: I read tarot, playing cards, I Ching, I also dabble in water (or vessel) divination. -How long have you been reading if so?: Around 10 years-Where did you find Tarot, Tea, & Me?: Well, this is a roundabout story. Back when Aeclectic was around, I recall when it was announced that the forum would be closing. Many in the community began mobilizing and setting up forums and groups in other places. I joined several of them but never really participated. I guess I needed time to heal from Ae…

Hello, Tarot Peoples! First the details, 'cause I don't know where else to start ~ I've been connected to the tarot for 25+ years, and I'm the author of 6 books (three of them on tarot). I'm the mother of 7 children. I home-schooled 6 children for a total of 25+ years. My oldest child is 45, and my youngest child is 19. When I stopped to think about it, it kind of amazed me. I realized that I've had babies in 4 different decades and two centuries!! I was born in California, raised in South Dakota, and have lived the last 30 years in Nebraska. This spring saw a HUGE change to my life, one I'm still adjusting to. I call it The Great Migration... …

Hello, i'd like to quickly introduce myself to you. I'm pretty excited that i found this forum, which honestly seems well alive compared to others. So i did not hesitate but jumped right in and created me an account to participate here. My technical details are quickly told: I'm a ~45 year old Taurus male from germany. Being born on 1st of May i'm somewhat rooted in the celtic mythology. I sniffed a bit into numerology and astrology, use pendulums from time to time but tarot was the thing i remembered to be into in my youth. So i picked it up again some months ago to no regret. It again serves me well to connect with my subconscious to dig for the …

Hi! Newbie here, so you might see me sometime ambling along trying to figure out how things work here. 😅 I'm a beginner practitioner of cartomancy (hedgewytchery), with oracle cards on the side. I do own tarot cards, but when I tried learning tarot reading and cartomancy, I find myself leaning more to using a regular deck of playing cards. I joined this forum in a bid to encourage and motivate myself to practice more, so feel free to interact with me (especially those who practice the same system as me hehe). Thank you! 💙

Hi everyone, I'm just getting back into the reading of my own Rider Waite Tarot deck that I've had for over 20 years. I had just been watching others on UTube do the reading for Pisces (yes that's me;-) Yet now I have started reading for myself and my friends and family and they seem to like it too! My 2 birds Jerry and Billy are flying around my home now and whistling along to Stairway to Heaven. I'm also known as the Bird Lady and I love listening to music too. Much love and best wishes to you all!

Hey I just wanted to introduce myself. I am relatively new to tarot, and have found it easy to use, but difficult to usefully apply to my life. I would say my main problem is that it feels like the readings were working, but it was mostly bad news, so tarot just ends up feeling like I'm getting bad news twice, if that makes any sense. So I'm looking forward to gaining some insights from more experienced people. I have a background in Gnosticism, and am generally interested in Western esoteric studies.

Hi all! I am fairly new to learning Tarot. I’ve been reading or trying to read some cards for myself only and also have read the book “A beginner’s guide to understanding the Tarot”. But I feel like each card can have much more meaning to it than what’s in that book. I’ve found some online videos very helpful with card meaning. But I wonder, is there a book that you’ve found helpful for beginners? Any help is appreciated!

To anyone who reads this, hello. I'm just going to dive right in here... I am very very new to tarot. I just got my first deck a few weeks ago from my someone who was very important to me. Anyway I did a little bit of research and have been doing daily card pulls to get acquainted with my deck. I learned about using meditation while holding the cards and using positive energy to cleanse them. So tonight I held my deck between my hands eyes closed thinking peaceful thoughts. Almost immediately I felt something different about me my surroundings the cards everything... without my knowledge I said (out loud) "I call upon the power within my self and of the universe" I felt …

Hello everyone! I am South Florida native that recently moved to Los Angeles a few months ago. (Don't let the word South fool you, South Floridians are very far from being Southerners, for better or for worse.) I have always been fascinated with magic and in particular tarot cards. I remember staring at the decks in B&N growing up, but they seemed so untouchable. (I think they were kept in a glass case?) My mother bought my first tarot book when I was 12 or so and it came with a mini deck that you could punch out of the book. Unfortunately for me, it's possibly the worst book on tarot ever written (I found it again at 24 and it was still indecipherable). I sh…

Hello all, I'm very happy to be here. I've been reading the old Aeclectic forums, but then found Tarot, tea and me. A few years ago I started learning the RWS card meanings, mainly by rote and then, somehow just trailed off. I came across my deck again recently and something happened, I got bitten by the tarot bug. I'm glad to see there is a special thread to help talk people down from buying too many decks, as I've gone a bit mad on that front! :bugeyed: And all those walk throughs on YouTube, all those beautiful decks and books. Anyway, I'm currently working my way through Mary Greer' s 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card, which I'm really enjoying. Looking for…

I am chronically ill and weaving reading regularly into my day is not easy but that ain't …

Hi all! Just realized I had this posted in tye wrong section. I wonder how do you guys link cards together? I use RW tarot cards and am not a pro (also new to this forum as well). It has always been hard for me to link them together to read cards “like a story”. I know that I’m supposed to find things in common but sometimes it’s very hard to do so! any recommendations? thanks!

I bought my first deck, Universal Waite, a few months ago, and I also have the Moonology Oracle deck and the Everyday Witch Tarot. I am a slow learner, often pulling just one card to meditate on for the day. I love looking at beautiful decks though, and I can see myself collecting at some point. I found the Aeclectic Tarot forum and enjoy what is there. I will probably read lots and post seldom, but I am looking forward to being here!
