I was having a conversation with a friend about tarot decks that follow no system, if the images didn't have a number or title, one would never know what the card was supposed to be (I see this often in theme decks). Decks that are more like an oracle to me, but just numbered like tarot. He said he doesn't need a system or titles, he interprets them himself. I found this really interesting as I have yet to find an oracle (honestly haven't looked really hard, but would like to find an oracle I can work with) I can work with and decks that don't follow a system, to me are basically oracles, you use your intuition. I KNOW some oracles have a book and descript…

Hello, I am still relatively new in tarot readings , but do truly enjoy them , and do feel like I connect to what the cards are telling me. In the past few months I have noticed (not that it's been hard to) , that I repeatedly am drawing The Judgment in my readings and always in an upright position, presented as me now or "What to do" type of a card. I do understand the basic- change seeking meaning of the card and see that there is a lesson to be learned. But wanted to hear your visions and thoughts about that. Thank you.

So after some back and forth periods of weariness about the Tarot I am truly out of the woods. Not only do I not worry about what I'm doing, I am growing in excitement to become a better reader and bond with my decks but I find that I don't really know how to do that. I want to start reading for myself again or reading on things by myself somehow, just to become regular and familiar with my decks. I'd like to start keeping a deck with me all the time, I know that some people pull a daily card and meditate on it. But basically I just have trouble coming up with questions TO ask my decks, I'm not very curious about my own life I'm quite content to let it unfold as it do…

I just had me a curmudgeonly rant about some of the dearly-held myths of tarot. I'm sure I missed some (or many). Anyone care to weigh in on the subject? I'm not looking for defense, just identification. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2020/06/14/the-myths-of-tarot-sacred-cows-and-tin-gods/

What are some personal Tarot practices that are uniquely yours, or which other readers may find odd or strange? I discussed this with a few of my reader friends just the other day, and suffice it to say that we were thoroughly entertained by how creative and out of this world some of our peculiarities are. I even thought of incorporating some of their quirks in my practice. ;D

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a seller on etsy that is listing fake decks and fake original drawings by Pamela Colman Smith. These fakes are, to me, extremely obvious so I don't think it will fool many people that know anything about Pamela or about the RWS, but still, this person seems to have made quite a few sales so I felt it was worth to make sure they don't get away with it. I urge everyone to report it. And in case the site is taken down, I thought some of you might enjoy a peek at the blatant lies and the fantastic quality fakes that are on offer 😁 https://www.etsy.com/shop/TAROTKAT Description of the drawings (scroll do…

I'm not sure whether this is the correct section to post this but I couldn't find one that fits the topic, so I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong spot <3 I recently.. well a couple months now.. got a new tarot deck, but every time I do a reading, I always feel like I'm not able to really understand or connect to the cards fully, to be able to understand the answers. Usually I read intuitively, whatever feelings I am getting from the imagery of the cards, or whatever emotions strikes me. When I read with my legacy of the divine deck, I used to be able to connect very quickly and feel at ease trusting whatever I feel from the cards. For this new de…

Whenever you get a brand new deck, do you immediately unseal it or do you wait until you feel that the time is right? I'm more of the latter. I'd usually buy decks that I like but won't open them until weeks, months, or even years later. I feel like I must only unseal a deck when I can give it my undivided attention and lavish as much time as I can spare in studying it. It's weird since even tho I like my decks a lot especially at the time that I bought them, it's not often that I open a deck out of pure excitement. More than half of all the decks and sets in my collection are still pristine and sealed. It is good since unopened items retain their value more than t…

I'm reading with great interest the posts about what people may see about tarot as they walk into your home, and it seems some people have a A LOT of decks! I get that! But, for those of you who have hundreds of decks, I have a feeling some of you must have that one go-to deck that you always go back to. Me personally, it's always my trusty vintage Grimaud TdM deck from'77. But color wise, it doesn't match up to some of the newer TdM's, they saved money by just dumbing down the multi colors. But it always feels good to use it. It's all good energy.

I'm sure this has been broached, here, before, but can't find anything about it in the search option, so, what, in your opinion, is the best accompanying book, booklet or LWB you've ever come across for any Tarot deck? And... any separately published Tarot deck specific book that blew you away? I'll start by saying that, for me, the Druidcraft is one of the very best, if not the best combo I've come across so far. Looking forward to discovering others from you. :D

would there be anything you'd do/fix/work out/create? I still grieve for the loss of the community interaction at Aeclectic Tarot. Get over it, move on, yadayada....but in a perfect world, Dear Santa, I'd like to see Cartomancy, Cult of Tarot and Here, combine. I know it would still never please everyone, nothing does, I know there are egos involved, has to be, we're human. But wouldn't it be wonderful? They each have strengths that would be so wonderful to be sourced in one spot. Witchvox? Come on in too! So much information, so many interesting people, now all segregated... where is the fun in that? I made the decisi…

Hope I am posting this in the correct place. How do you feel about reading the cards for someone who has no idea you are reading for them? I have read the cards about someone without their consent when I was young (many moons ago) and was desperate to know if someone liked me; would come back to me; was seeing someone else - all the usual anxt making stuff when one is young and "in love"! These days I am uncomfortable reading for someone when they want to know details about another person. I usually steer them towards "what do I need to know about my feelings towards ?; how can I improve my relationship with ? - turning their reading back on themselves. D…

For me it is Celtic Cross by far... but I will do 3/5 carder for quick stuff, especially if it's something I don't want so much information back on. The "Very Bad Day" spread I amusingly use quite often on my Tarot app (Galaxy Tarot) even though most of the time, it is not a bad day at all. I just find the energy it gives back sometimes to be quite well... awesome. It cuts through the nonsense and lets me know what my priority should be for the day and what really isn't and the other spreads in the app are not so good for this.

I have found myself pondering this question for a long time now. Is it the tarot that sees the answer, or is it the gift of the person reading the cards? While I do believe that everyone can read the tarot at least to a degree, there are arguably some that are just better at it. There are some people who with little practice can just interpret with great levels of accuracy and detail. I personally feel as though the tarot is more of a conduit for an already gifted person. A means for them to draw out their gifts if that makes sense. What does everyone else think about this?

Hi everyone. :) I am just wondering, how do you keep your cards, store them safely? Usually, I keep the decks in a wooden box individually. I purchase the boxes from an art market vendor. The boxes are plain with a small mechanical lock. Then I carve the name of the deck on the box (so I know which deck is being stored and I don't have to open each box to get the deck that I search for). How about you?

There are so many tarot people on YouTube, for example, showing off their massive collections, doing videos on clearing the clutter and/or getting rid of old decks to make way for new ones, etc. It's obvious many people out there don't just own one or two decks! And certainly a few whose collecting habit may have got out of hand a bit. I certainly have collector tendencies myself, so I've kept mine under control using a few tricks. To start with, my current stash is 23 tarot decks that I actually use. I also have 8 decks that I don't use but keep because they are interesting or out of print— like my two prized Walter Wegmüller decks that I got in the 1970s (…

Hi, I struggle with coming up with the "correct verbiage" when it comes to asking/posing a question in Tarot readings? Any suggestions/input/advice is welcome and appreciated... Any examples of questions are welcome..like, comparing "muddled question" to rephrasing it kind of example Thank you in advance! 🙂 edit: I always think of Rodney (I think it was Rodney) who said "garbage in garbage out" to some of the questions posed (I believe it was my post and he was helping out); it always makes me smile and I try to keep what he said in mind, but still struggling..

Hi all. Hope you are well. I am still new to tarot and draw a card each day. Today I drew the Death card for the first time and wondered if it's anything to worry about? I am probably over thinking but thought I would see what you all thought. I use the Gilded tarot deck if that makes any difference.

This was a tough one, but I managed to come up with a couple of themes for the RWS 5 of Swords that will help to put a positive spin on it if comes up in your reading. The first theme is conquest. Not as in domination over others, but conquering the obstacles in your life. The man in the foreground represents this positive spin. Sure, he looks a little smug, but maybe he has a right to be. Maybe he's conquered an illness, addiction, financial problems, or his own insecurities or negative thinking. His red hair suggests that he's "fired up" and ready to move forward. The second theme is surrender. Sometimes, no matter how much you struggle, you're just fighting…

I wonder if any of you have done readings for missing person cases. I never used to, until last year a woman from the wider area went missing and I thought to try. I drew one card from the Marseilles and got Death reversed, which moved in a way first reminding me of a hanging and I thought suicide, but then it all seemed to fall and I saw some weird motion reminding me of water. I had the impression she fell into a body of water and drowned. Forgot about it until now, when I saw news about her case with the information that, some months back, a fisher found hair of her color in a body of water but searches have not found anything as the area is vast and verda…

I know that traditional readings are the best, but What´s your opinion and experience on accuracy of automatical online readings. More than readings I am referring to automatical selection of cards, which you can read after the software draws the cards.

Hi all, This topic keeps coming up and it just astounds me that it happens because I have a difficult time understanding the concept. Personally, all cards can be positive or negative depending on the reading. I am honestly trying to understand why it is done. So here are my questions about this. Do you remove cards that you consider negative from your deck? If you do why do you do it?
