Hi all, I just thought I'd share some recent readings that I'm having hard time deciding were they 'right' or 'wrong'. Firstly, about a half a year ago I did a reading for my husband about what would be his next career move. Back then it seemed he'd stay with his then-employer for quite some time. What I thought I got from the reading was: he will (or he should) obtain a bus to take groups to tours to teach them about ecology and environmental values. He's an environmental professional but has been stuck in lower-level jobs for a few years and I thought maybe this reading was encouraging him to establish his own environmental education business. Fast forward 6 …

I had a man tell me once that "You have to keep your cards hot"' meaning that you have to use them regularly. And I've found this to be true - not just with cards in general, in the sense of staying in practice, but with individual decks. Let me explain: If I put surplus decks in a box, shelve them and forget them for a few years, then pull them out and use them, they don't seem to work as well as decks I use regularly. Neither do new decks. It's not a matter of being out of practice, I've found that this is the case with traditional Lenormand decks as well. The long-unused ones will work, but they don't seem as clear and on point as whatever deck I've been using. The …

I am not sure if this is the right section for this but I have been having this problem for quite a while and need help. I have been feeling disconnected from my cards lately. Every time I touch them, I feel like something is not quite right. It is like a I sense another energy on the cards. As if someone else has been reading with my cards. I knew some people allow others to use their cards and they are fine after using them. Is it possible that if someone is using m cards, for me to feel their energy while using it or could it be something else. This feeling of disconnect has also caused me to not be able to read as well as before. Sometimes, I…

How long time do you need to spend with a deck before you know it's not working for you? :-\

Hey there! :) So, without getting into too many details, my husband doesn't want me to use tarot. He thinks it's "derived from the Devil" and has told me he doesn't want it in his house. I can totally understand where he is coming since he comes from a very religious background. I do too, but I have found my own way. When we met, he knew of my different spiritual beliefs and use of Tarot. It wasn't a problem, but now it is. Tarot is a part of me. It'd be like me telling him I didn't want bibles in the house. He asked me to show him how I do a typical reading. I did. Y'all...it was like tearing myself open :( the look on his face. Anyone else have experience with…

I saw on the internet several cards from the High Priestess with spider(webs). I do not have the deck names. But I was wondering, what is the meaning of the symbol spider and spider web? Thanks.

I have recently decided to look into a situation that has been going on for 4 months I must of encountered this card every reading I have done , whenever I am leisurely shuffling my cards I find this card on the top or bottom of the pile and when I randomly select a card yes it’s the 4 of chalices. It has mostly been subconscious or a fleeting thought that I should look into it more seriously , I have started to a few times but either been distracted , or gotten busy or brushed it off , ironically my reading around this card has brought up similar attributes so here goes the 4 of chalices I am listening and you have my full attention , Any input on the card mos…

I have recently borrowed the Tarot of Trees deck and book from a friend and have fallen in love with it. I have been looking online and have run into problems finding both the book and deck together. One website is deck only. Another site says doesn't ship to Canada. If anyone has the book and cards that they want to sell or know where I can get both I would greatly appreciate it.

About a week ago my wife and I had a serious argument. I forget about what exactly now, since it's been resolved, chalk it up to the male brain, but at the time Intuition said the only way we can truly find a resolution to our disagreement was through the Tarot. The problem is, she doesn't believe in the Tarot. About the third day and the issue has not yet been resolved, but all the emotions and anger have somewhat settled, we decided to talk calmly about it. Still no seeing eye-to-eye on the topic, though, but I finally pulled out my deck, shuffled it, and fanned it in front of her. She rolled her eyes, and I said, pick ten cards. She …

Does anyone have any examples of unconventional suit meanings/associations that are still useful and illuminating? I'm thinking through a new method of reading with non-Marseille pip decks and would like some food for thought about how to understand the suits beyond the received wisdom (i.e. Wands = energy/spirit/ambitions, Cups = love/relationships/feelings, Swords = thoughts/communication, and Pentacles = job/health/money). Here are some examples of what I mean: - In my recent discussion about a new approach to the RWS based on reading the actual images, I noted my distaste for assigning the suit of Swords the typical meanings of "thoughts & communicatio…

I just wrote this for my personal tarot journal but thought others might enjoy it. If I've posted in the wrong place, I apologize in advance! I've been drawing a single card every day for a few weeks now and yesterday I drew the Devil. This was at 6:00 am so I thought, "Well, my day is shot." I was wrong. Like the other cards I've drawn, I looked at it and asked, "Ok buddy, what lesson do you have for me today?" Once I got past the obvious stuff, my mind went blank so I set the card up beside my monitor and got back to work. Or I tried to. I stopped and glanced at it all morning looking for an insight that resonated with me.…

Hello! After reading a thread on here about daily readings, I decided it may be good for me to get back into it 🙂 The strange thing is that I pulled three cards, and all three were Major Arcana (The Magician- The Tower- The Hanged Man). Have you had experience pulling all Major Arcana Cards for a reading? If so, did anything significant happen that day?

I did a past, present, future spread yesterday for 'my relationship with X' and the cards I pulled for past and present are, for lack of a better term, 'wrong'. Without getting into specifics, because this is intended as technique and how to approach this, my relationship with this person has not been good, and currently is not good. The cards that came up were showing a positive relationship, for past, present and future. Who knows what the future holds so I won't automatically discredit that one, but past and present definitely did not reflect the reality of how things have been and currently are. I can't see any way of these cards reflecting th…

Hi there... I am looking for an old deck and wondered if I can make a request for it on this forum? Or is that not allowed? Thanks!

To what extent, in your experience, do a querent's unspoken hopes affect the cards that come up to illustrate the future/ outcome of the situation on which they are reading? For example, being fired from a job, or a rejection of some kind, may seem like a "negative" outcome to most people. If the querent, however, wants such an outcome (and is conscious of their wish, but does not speak of it), might it show up as, say, the Sun, Knight of Cups, or Page of Cups (cards that traditionally refer to good news) where for others it might have shown up as the Tower, Death or Ten of Swords? On this note, are such cards as the Tower, Death and Ten of Swords more likely - in y…

Hello Do you think that Tarot de Marseille and Rider Waite have different sets of meanings -specially minor arcana- coming each one from two different schools, French and Anglo-Saxon? IF so, in your opinion what are the main differences between both decks? By the way, I a, also interested in knowing what are the most classical and deep books on Tarot de Marseille, and Rider Waite. Thanks

So I'm working with my Druidcraft on finding my path. I'd drawn the Hermit (I know, right?) and wanted to keep that card to think about so today drew another card. So I've stumbled across a spread/reading approach: a single card each day, with no replacement, laying out a progressive story from the cards. No replacement progressively limits the options, so I'm thinking I'll need to curtail the reading at a certain point, but then, maybe I shouldn't - life is like this, isn't it? Each choice you make shapes and limits the next choice. It's not often we get to go 'no, I don't like this card I drew' and start over. That card is in someone else's deck, too. …

I have a deck, sturdy, but I shuffle it quite a bit. ONE card has lamination JUST starting to peel from one corner. I want to fix it without it looking weird. Anyone else ever have this issue and how did you fix it? Not that easy of a deck to replace.

These two cards share a lot of similarities, they both represent a union, harmony, partnership (romantic or not), choices and etc. But what are the differences of these two cards? As a newbie I can't really tell. And I saw it on some other forum that the development of the relationship in 2 of cups is more passive than the lovers, but it will last longer. I'm wondering where is this conclusion coming from? Also what is your idea about these two cards?

I went out to dinner last night and our server had tattoos from her shoulders down her arms, including images of birds, flowers, lion, clockface, etc. Without thinking I started "reading" meanings in her tattoos (thankfully silently). I caught myself midstream and started thinking about how the iconography of tattoos and tarot are probably linked in many ways. This ever happen to any of y'all, where you see a tatted stranger and catch yourself "reading" their tattoos? A first for me.

Hi all, About reading tarot and using other divination methods and 'where to draw the line' with what to accept as 'the right answer.' Recently I've been experimenting with coin tossing and online Yes/No button to predict. Unlike Tarot cards, these give strictly binary yes/no answers. However, I've noticed that often the answer doesn't fit, because the situation is ambiguous, for example: Will it rain during my walk? NO. There ended up being a slight drizzle but nothing so heavy I would have required an umbrella. So is this rain or not? Technically, it is rain, but the purpose of my question was do I need an umbrella. Tarot often gives answers that are 'ye…

I have no idea if this is the best place for this question? I bought my deck of cards for myself to contact someone in spirit and whilst the tarot overall seems to be a method of contacting your higher self it still seems to be the best way to do this. I've been reading my cards for all of a week and I'm quite happy with the interpretations I've made from the energies that I feel as I do it. Sometimes I don't even need a question, the overall energy makes cards pop out as a I shuffle that give me answers before I start and I generally use between 1 and 3 cards max. However, as I've gone on I do get cards in reverse, which would (if I didn't ignore them as a ra…
