I tend to be a pretty deep tarot reader. I want to dive into it with people, and usually spend 30+ minutes on a spread. But sometimes I just want to throw a few cards down. I do that for friends sometimes, and it's fine. I have no trouble seeing meanings in three-card spreads people post here or in other forums. But for myself, wow, those short little reads are a train wreck. They don't make any sense to me. I can read for myself if I really drop it, commit to a big spread, and spend the time with it, but I don't know if I'm just resisting, but it seems like the cards never make any sense. When I'm reading for someone else, I have no problem dropping in with a di…

I guess Google tracks my every movement on my phone because when I go the app on my phone it has all these interesting news stories to show me from news, music and yes, all kinds of tarot stuff. So, one that came up yesterday for a yearly tarot reading for sagittarius, a one card reading, for me it was the 4 of Wands (I'm getting a lot of Wands lately), reversed. Well, the reader said that the 4oW is actually a good card even reversed. But my issue is, and maybe its just me, how can one card show what a year will be? It was the RWS deck by the way. I just don't think one card, or even two, maybe at least three can show a year. That person does seem to have a reg…

Hello! I am new to the world of tarot. I was wondering, if I have a deck with a few bent cards, will it cause the reading to be inaccurate? Like, if a card happens to come out more often because it is bent, does it matter? I’ve seen people who use really old decks, so I assume you can. Just curious what others think.

Hello again everyone, and thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome, I already feel at home 🙂 I was just wondering what peoples "go to" techniques/layouts/spreads are.. For example, If I'm going to do a reading for another person, I generally go for the Celtic cross, I think this is because I'm comfortable with this layout and I always feel a nervous pressure when I am reading for other people. However, when I'm reading for myself, I use a large variety of layouts, and techniques. I love looking a new spreads and learning new techniques, so some new ideas would be great 🙂 Thanks all

I want to expand my Astrology knowledge in the Tarot. I have already read the book from Corrine Kenner - Tarot and Astrology. Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac. But still I am struggling with the Astrology side. I was thinking about buying a new book about it. I am looking for the book from Muriel Bruce Hasbrouck -Tarot and Astrology. The Pursuit of Destiny. My questions are: Is this book from Muriel Bruce Hasbrouck good? Or do you have other recommendations for me, there must be more books about the topic Tarot and Astrology? Thanks.

I'm hoping someone will be able to jog my memory. Several years ago I was taking Tarot lessons via mail with an organization that was well-known for Tarot and magical practices. But, as is my often scatterbrained manner, I can't remember who the heck it was. I tried going through my old Tarot notes, but I can't find the lessons either. Does anyone have any idea who it might have been? I'm pretty sure they were based in the US and it was not the ATA. I remember that the lessons I got were typewritten (I think) and were heavily magically slanted. Each lesson required me to write fairly detailed answered and required a good deal of thought and reflection.

What's the most difficult reading you've ever performed? It can be because it took such a long time to conduct it, or because the spread itself is highly-complicated (like the OOTK), or maybe because you've already expended so much effort on it and you still can't interpret what the cards say. Or maybe because the emotional implications of the reading were so heavy, so ominous towards the querent, that you had a hard time finshing it or even just relaying to the other person exactly what the cards have said? In any case, did you finish it, or did you just give up altogether? If you did pull it off, did the reading eventually turn out to be accurate?

I just recently discovered Theresa Reed aka The Tarot Lady and her site. She’s interesting! I like her style and manner of speaking and interpreting the cards. She’s written several books, too. Anyone really like her? Anyone not too fond of her and her style of reading? For the beginners, she does give free interpretations of every card as well as advice for each card and other info and she offers paid classes, as well.

How often do we need to cleanse or clear our Tarot cards? I understand that it is better to cleanse the Tarot cards after doing a reading for another person. If we use the Tarot cards only for our personal reading, do we need to cleanse the cards before each reading (especially if you do daily guidance reading)? Thank you.

I had noticed recently when visiting the US Games site that it seems like they've updated their site- thank goodness! They were really due for an update, and with the changes I think the site is now easier to navigate, easier to see the new decks and available pre-orders, etc. But I was pleasantly surprised to also notice that they now seem to have all LWBs available for download right there on the deck pages! That is very nice and convenient. I had just gotten a Ghosts & Spirits without the LWB in a trade, and was planning to email them to see if they could send me a copy. I went to their site just to make sure the deck was still in print (I wasn't sure), and to …

Nearly two years ago, elsewhere online, I had given an individual a reading that they felt was fairly accurate. I sometimes offer free readings in a chatroom environment with the understanding that for me to do so, the individuals must give feedback in the chatroom in return. I do that so that others can learn the cards. Also, there are witnesses! 😄 That same individual sat through a couple of other readings and as the room was slowing down asked me a question that caught me off guard, "What is your process in reading the cards?" I didn't have a video camera at the time. Everything was done via voice and text. If they could have seen me they would have…

Is anyone familiar with a site WTarot, that sells decks? It seems...not quite legit to me? (I apologize in advance and will eat my words if it is.) It just seems odd that they say they have an OOP deck like Roots of Asia for $58, and then they have an IN print deck like Dreams of Gaia for...$68? Anyone have experience with this site?

As I am learning and trying the cards on anyone, like clothing, I suddenly thought that my Stafford was a textbook example of the Knight of Wands. He's charming, athletic, totally self-confident and fearless, always ready for adventures, will tackle what others avoid, rises to any challenge and is a loyal friend. On the negative side, he's hot-tempered, doesn't stop to think before acting, has self-control issues and too ready for a fight (of course he's not allowed to fight). I am still thinking about cats, they aren't as easy for me, but I think it will be a useful exercise for me to figure their cards. What about yours?

So far, I've only been offering free readings online at a forum and anonymously. How do people find you? Offering readings for friends would be odd, because I know them, and that could make me biased. I've gotten 95% positive feedbacks so far, so I guess that makes me want to continue learning more.

I'm thinking about ordering an indie deck from overseas. The limit for how much you can spend before you have to pay import tax on goods you order from online isn't very high in my country so I know this deck + shipping will be over that limit. Basically I wonder which "genre" or type of goods tarot decks are shipping as? I know books are free to import and that is the closest thing I can think of to tarot decks. I figure there might not be many other Norwegians in this group but the rest of you might know what it could say on the label ;D Oh, and it's littleredtarots shop I'm thinking of ordering from.

I had an interview today and I did a cc spread before the interview and horseshoe spread after the interview. Coincidentally outcome, fear and environment in both the spreads has come to be the same. Outcome- Chariot Fear- Strength Environment / Attitude of others - 6 of swords I don’t really feel good about how the interview went, obviously my hunch on the Recent future is right with the Tower. But I wonder why these cards are chasing me?
