I’ve recently been studying Melanie Marquis’ Spellcaster’s Tarot and find it interesting that she corresponds the Earth element with health, but not the Water element. Ancient oracle sites, particularly temples dedicated to the healing gods Asclepius and Amphiaraus, were invariably associated with water, typically as a life-force representation of healing. Other tarot masters have likewise associated the Water element with healing (Tracy Porter to cite just one example). Kind of struck my curiosity cord to inquire how others associate health and healing in the tarotsphere?

I recently had a request to do a paid reading covering a two-year period. I was tempted but decided that circumstances (especially those involving relationship matters) can shift so dramatically over that long a time that the amount of generalization required of such a reading could render it fairly useless to the client. I have a couple of spreads I created based on the pagan "Wheel of the Year" model but don't have enough confidence in them to offer them professionally. I'm going to tackle creating a new spread for this purpose, but in the meantime I was wondering how other pro readers deal with such long-range forecasts.

I challenge anyone to give me a distinction between the king of cups and queen of cups without using sexist tropes to describe the queen of cups. i have scoured books and the internet to help me understand queen of cups and no explanation sits well with me. If we are going off of divine feminine characteristics, feminine is associated with receiving and masculine giving. So then why is it that everyone wants to assign this selfless emotional caretaker role like she only exists in service to others when the king of cups is just this self sufficient beacon of emotional intelligence. I *just* saw on another internet place that someone had asked ChatGPT to give a tarot reading... and what it came back with was surprisingly interesting. I gave it a whirl too! If you haven't heard of ChatGPT, click here to check it out! Basically, it is an AI. What did it say to you if you asked for a reading? Is this "a tarot reading"? Is it any less valid because it is not interpreted by ourselves? What do you think this implies about intuition & fate? How could this interpretation method be useful to us in our personalized intuitive practice?

I did look at multiple resources re reading, many meanings of each card, but then before I got really into reading, I first journaled with each card. Would look at it and see what meaning resonated. That worked for me. And as I went into Tarot as my own personal journey, not to become a reader of Tarot for others, I did what worked for me. We all know that this is one of the central ethical tenets of Tarot reading. I mean, would you ask a neighbor to read for you if she's one of the best in the state, yes, but your whole town's going to be abuzz with your deepest secrets before sundown? For you tho, is this 100% sacrosanct, never to be violated under any circumstance at all? Or do you think there are a few situations which would warrant breaking your silence? Which would these be? How did you get started in tarot? I’ve tried on numerous occasions since age 11 and it just hasn’t been a good fit. I have a questions about, well, questions. I'm fairly new to tarot and I'm still getting my feet wet. I am branching off into some interesting new spreads, but I started having difficulties matching readings with specific topics. So, lately, I've done a few readings where I asked the querent to have a specific topic or questions in their mind, and to look at the reading in terms of that specific topic or question, but not tell me the topic/question. Hi All, I've read that if you do not read tarot (specifically the RWS) with reversals, that you are missing out on a true reading and other levels. However I have a question about how this works. Let's say a card accidentally gets reversed. At what point does it get back up? Or do you just forever keep it reversed? Or do you put it back upright once you've pulled it? And also, it is absolutely necessary to read with reversals?

what do you think about tarot validity? Is it a fault to interpret it? or it just does not work? A year ago I was on the reading, reader said that I would definitely get pregnant in August, I did not go. I went 2 months later in the ectopic pregnancy. how is this time in tarot determined with this? actually she always said tarot valid untill 2 years. Newbie here and NO idea where I should post this question. Looked for a general discussion forum, but the one that is there didn't have start new topic feature. SO apologies for the misplacement. I went to cut my deck over my lap and they slipped from my hands and hand half landed in my coffee cup. Not sure why they didn't drop straight down into my lap, but they didn't. I washed them off and they are drying now. What have people done with cards that have gotten wet? Is this part of the history or need a new deck? Help. Also, please direct me to the proper forum if this is not ok here.

Are there members here that do these kinds of readings with the tarot? If so, can you basically give me some tips or general advice on how to do these types of readings? The querents question is...Can anyone do a free psychic reading on my daddy's soul for me? She provides 6 or 7 photos of her father in her thread. So, I don't really use the CC. I just never gelled with "The situation/what's crossing you/what lies beneath/what crowns you", etc. jargon. It just didn't resonate at all. I have the sort of mind that if something doesn't make sense, I'm outta there. :) But I have a friend that I sometimes do readings for. How many times do you shuffle your cards? Do you do it a fixed number of times - like you always shuffle nine times for example? Do you wait until the deck feels "right"? Or does it depend on something else? Related fact: I've read before that to fully randomize a deck of cards, you need to riffle shuffle it at least 7 times. There's a mathematical basis for this too - so this is not a metaphysical concept or something.

Hi all, I am completely new to tarot and am trying to learn the cards and their meanings whilst also trying to let intuition guide me rather than simply memorising things. I am currently pulling a card a day for myself and trying to write my intuitive thoughts first and then looking up the meanings after. Wondered how everyone else started out or any tips for the best way to learn as a complete novice.
