What I ask is: If I ask the same question 10 different times, with 10 different results... are these 10 answers 10 sides of a true and reliable answer to the question? Or after the first reading, all the remaining ones have "outdated" answers? What do they think about that?

When you first begin your tarot journey, do you memorize card meanings? If you do memorize card meanings, what are some tips you can give me as to how to memorize the meanings of the more difficult cards. The Court Cards. The Aces, etc.

Hi, everyone! Yesterday I did a general 3-card spread with my RW-deck. It immediately became obvious that the spread was all about corona. I won't go into detail as this is not the place to do so, but one of the cards was 5 of Swords. I am reading a lot about tarot and the cards and one thing I have noticed is that in certain books or websites you will get a different meaning to the cards. For example, I did a three card reading on a situation in my life: A friendship I ended. Hi, I am very new to tarot and am using it as a tool for self reflection. When I draw cards like the 5 of pentacles or the 4 of wands I feel like there is lot to see in the card - all sorts of emotions and stories that I can use and relate to. But I come unstuck when I draw an ace. I feel like there's not much going on on the card so it's difficult to connect with them. If I look up the traditional meanings they seem quite straightforward but don't often resonate with how I'm feeling. Has anyone got any tips for how to get more out of my reading of the aces?

What techniques do you apply during a reading for another person, to remain present and objective in that reading, and ensure that your message isn’t influenced by any of your own personal bias or thoughts, that your message is the clearest message for that individual, for what THEY need to know, and not what you think they need to know?

For a while I've had a feeling that I need to downsize my belongings. I'm fed up of living in a overfull, cluttered, messy house and would like generally to reduce the amount of stuff that I own. Not done too badly so far I think, over the last 18 months I'd say I've got rid of six black bags of clothes, and probably another six of random junk, all happily off to the charity shop. Still loads to do though, and two areas are problematic. Books and tarot decks. In my head it's easy. I can get rid of this book, that deck. Hi all. I am a seasoned tarot user though not a professional and I've only used them for self-exploration for a long time now (I am 47). In fact, I've recently come back to tarot and have been enjoying exploring decks I hadn't seen before. I came across the Mary-El and loved the artwork, so I purchased them. I know this is going to be different for everyone, but I am genuinely curious about what other tarot readers experience when they are shuffling their decks. Do you find you approach shuffling differently for different readings or decks, or do you always do your shuffling the same way? Do you take into account the messages you receive before laying any cards or do you solely focus on the cards themselves? Share away.

You may have worked with a deck so many times that the actual cards have become decrepit, and the images may have become scratched and marked that it has become quite unusable. Or for various reasons, you may have decided that you shan't be working with a deck anymore in the future. Anyway, what do you do with a deck after you chose to retire it? Do you put in a special place somewhere in your attic, burn it in a special ceremony, try to sell it if it still seems marketable, etc?

Was doing a reading for fun for a friend. I'm new to tarot so learning but her question was "is the man i like in a serious relationship?" She likes this man who seems to be hanging around a lot with this one girl and she wasn't sure if they were in a relationship or if they were if it's serious as in something with long term potential. I kept that in mind and the cards were all pages then the last card was Ace of Wands. How would I interpret that? Is it a not looking serious or yes? I was in Costco (warehouse store) today and saw Marseilles tarot images on Cabernet Sauvignon wine bottles! Each bottle had a different Majors card image on it. Tarot and Wine - two of my favorite things together! Prophecy is the vintner behind this wine. A quick Google search brought up this article https://vinepair.com/articles/wine-labels-design-tarot/ with some images. None of them are Marseilles though. Here's what I saw: I didn't buy any cause I have way too much wine right now. But if it's still available in a few months, I'll definitely buy one to try it out.

I guess Google tracks my every movement on my phone because when I go the app on my phone it has all these interesting news stories to show me from news, music and yes, all kinds of tarot stuff. So, one that came up yesterday for a yearly tarot reading for sagittarius, a one card reading, for me it was the 4 of Wands (I'm getting a lot of Wands lately), reversed. So I wonder if anyone else experiences this, I have the general meanings of the tarot card meanings, and can apply that knowledge in my message. I have found though at times, and this can be a strange phenomenon if you’ve ever experienced it, that a story of sorts about the symbols or figures within the card will spring to mind about what that figure is about to do once it’s no longer stationary, like a cinematic that helps me know what message my cards are trying to give to the person I’m giving the reading too.

I've been studying Tarot for about a year now and I've just now started to use reversals more often in my readings. I definitely see how they add more depth to a reading. I'm using Benebell Wen's WIND mneumonic (weakened energy, inverted meaning, negative effect, delay), which I find works pretty well. Just curious as to when more experienced readers felt comfortable using reversals consistently. Did you use them right from the beginning?

What's the most difficult reading you've ever performed? It can be because it took such a long time to conduct it, or because the spread itself is highly-complicated (like the OOTK), or maybe because you've already expended so much effort on it and you still can't interpret what the cards say. Or maybe because the emotional implications of the reading were so heavy, so ominous towards the querent, that you had a hard time finshing it or even just relaying to the other person exactly what the cards have said? In any case, did you finish it, or did you just give up altogether? If you did pull it off, did the reading eventually turn out to be accurate?

I did a seven-card spread using the Celestial, but it didn't resonate - there were some truths there, but I had to read the book as I don't connect well with the Celestial - I don't know the constellations and myths it draws on well enough. So I'm looking for some suggestions for a good deck choice - maybe I should go with my old favorite Spiral, or the Touchstone? Or the standard RWS? Or maybe I should draw out the Blake, but I haven't read with it much and it's a bit of a spiritually massive deck. Could be what I need though. I'd appreciate some spread suggestions. I got home from work today to discover my husband had ahd an accident with my new Fairy Lights deck. He'd knocked over some water I'd had set up for doing watercolour painting and had spilt all over some of my deck 😭 then instead of cleaning up all the water he just moved all the wet cards into a pile to the side (I do t even know if he dried them off) and put a cloth over the puddle 🙄 I've put all the affected cards I to the hot water cupboard to dry off properly but they pretty buckled! Does anyone have any advice to help save them? Seems like a silly question but can you iron them flat? Any advice would help!

i've been entertaining the idea of doing some free readings in public (yes, i know we're in the middle of a pandemic, i've thought about safety precautions-- a topic for another time!) which brought me to this question. i was curious how often, exactly, do most readers cleanse their deck. if, for example, you are booked for a party and do, say, maybe nine or ten readings, would you wait until after the party was over to cleanse your deck? would you do a mini cleanse in-between sitters? after five people? alternatively, when do you know that you need to cleanse your deck? are some people's energy more "sticky" than others?

Hello! I am new to the world of tarot. I was wondering, if I have a deck with a few bent cards, will it cause the reading to be inaccurate? Like, if a card happens to come out more often because it is bent, does it matter? I’ve seen people who use really old decks, so I assume you can. Just curious what others think.

I used this last night for the first time and I really liked. It was just a fun spread and it did flow right along with the person asking the question about the possibility of a future road trip and all the cards were related to each other. it's a 21 card spread, three rows of 7 columns using the Major Arcana's and I also use the Ace's. Each column represents a different aspect of the question in the same way most other large spreads do. But, I'm finding alternative spreads of at least 9 cards to use other than the Celtic Cross and this one along with another I found based on a Kabala geometric design to be the best.
