Hi - I’ve been looking at Biddy Tarot’s Mastering the Cards Meaning classes. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it’s worth the cost? I’ve recently picked up Tarot again after a very long break and feel it might help me refresh my knowledge. Thanks in advance xoxoxo

I was inspired to adress this topic after seeing a video by Avalon Cameron on her patreon page that discussed the concept of Sacred Balance. She spoke about the importance of figuring out exactly what you yourself are made of so that you can understand what imbalances you and how to correct it to be fully grounded. So not everyone will find that going barefoot or spending time in nature will make them grounded. There are many different sorts of imbalances - plus there are also some people that suffer from being too grounded. Being too grounded can manifest itself in ways where you carry excess weight, feel stuck and don't like to leave home. Perhaps you overindulge in foo…

Gregory sent me some loose cards for my patchwork decks project (Thank Yu!) but a couple are not identified. Can anyone help with these (descriptions only for now, photos later if we're all really stuck) There's a single card from a deck which has an outstanding back design showing a little boy in a space suit floating above a planet, with xmas parcels floating about? The card is 18 - has a lot of xmas themed symbols, boy in space helmet making a snowman, I'm thinking this is some specific xmas themed deck but I don't know it. Anyone? There are 2 cards from a deck with a William Morris type fabric print as the back design. Very much fine art painting style to the f…

This one seems to be debatable, I remember seeing someone said 6 months on the purple tarot forum. I'm guessing it depends on the situation and the question, how susceptible to change the situation is? Also, does it make sense to ask when something will happen? I've been generally avoiding it because it feels a bit too specific. Although I am aware that there are timing ties with the cards.

Now, to start with; I do not mean this to be critical in any way or to poke fun at anyone. I am just interested and thought it would be an interesting discussion ... In a few other topics, I've seen folks make mention of having been frightened, to one extent or another, by the "accuracy" of the Tarot. Most times this is in regards to a first, or at least early experience with the cards. I have also heard people mention this when we've had in-person discussions on Tarot. The reason I'm wondering is because I've not had this really happen. I started learning Tarot in large part because I wanted to have those sorts of awe-inspiring experiences. And, over the years, I have…

Hi everyone, I posted something similar a few years ago, and at the time, I remember many people disagreed. We even discussed all the hypotheses raised: error in the question, error in the method, error in interpretation... (very common, actually). But, in a very humble way, I want to share that – having played tarot for a long time, both personally and professionally – I think that sometimes tarot simply doesn't work. It doesn't get it right. Why? I don't know. I have some ideas. They all have to do with: tarot is not an exact art. Objective. Cartesian. It's not something that can be replicated thousands of times in an attempt to obtain standardized and 100% accurat…

just like to sit and shuffle? While watching a film, listening to music, etc.? Even when I am not reading, I will sit and shuffle decks. I am very tactile and like to shuffle, but it also helps me feel more connected to my decks. I guess like giving a friend a hug (( I enjoy the act of shuffling. It also has the side benefit of "breaking in" new decks and the cardstock. ANYONE else shuffle when NOT getting ready to read?

What is a sunburst deck? Besides a deck name I made up, it is a deck with bright, bold colours, where every card isn't just illuminated, they seem to radiate their own light. I'm very particular about the decks I buy, and am certainly drawn to illustrated decks over photoshop collage or rendered decks for the most part. I also trend towards modern art style over the more traditional like the rws or tdm wood cut look. I was looking at the Lili White originally for this style but I have since learned it has the near unforgivable sin of copyright marks. Any suggestions to help me are largely appreciated! 🙂

A friend told me he had a tarot card reading years ago at some county fair (early 1990’s) The reader told him(so he claims) that he will die at age 57. Now, in my experience (which isn’t a lot) I didn’t think readings actually tell one that specific of details...am I right? I want him to have another reading...& yet do I? (It’s been years since I’ve had a reading, so personally I’m way over due) any insight would be greatly appreciated thank you

On the 8th of May 2026 - Sir David Attenborough turns 100! A live event takes place that day at The Royal Albert Hall in his honour, 8.30pm GMT - broadcasting on BBC1 & BBCIplayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2026/sir-david-attenborough-100-years-planet-earth I was thinking (just because)... what Tarot Archetype most embodies Sir David for you? - and Why? I have: 1) The Fool. Left - Tarot Apokalypsis ~ Dunne & Huggens Right - The Gendron Tarot ~ Melanie Gendron. These two renditions of The Fool, express (for me) Sir David's approach to our planet as he has presented it to us through his lifetime - wit…

I'm sure there are going to be lots of differing opinions on this but I thought it'd be fun to discuss! What's your opinion on using a phone app to read Tarot cards verses using the actual cards themselves? Personally, I love the feel of tarot cards and I enjoy shuffling them (the sound and the feel is so therapeutic!) and using them but there are times when it is hard to get my cards out and use whereas it is much easier to find a quiet space and use my phone. I don't find it effects my ability to read the cards or to use my intuition but I can see both sides of the argument for and against them. The only caveat I have with using an app is I like to have option…

Hello, How do you bring Tarot into concrete life ? Or do you use it mainly for "(self-)investigation" ? I came to Tarot by way of Rachel Pollack. I have loved the depths it showed but... In a more mundane aspect, I don't want it. I don't need to get more inside myself, I don't need to know more about my hidden feelings etc (I'm simplifying, and at the risk of sounding smug : I don't need to explore myself. Or others, for that matter). The thing is, it seems every book I come across is about that : exploration, soul dive, hidden stuff. I love it to explore certain things, yes. But how do I disentangle myself from that approach to…

I was pondering yes/no questions, and getting answers to them with the cards thanks to a recent process suggested by @Grizabella with Majors and Minors. As I pondered that, the old expression "the heart says yes but the head says no" came to mind. Grizabella uses Majors and Minors. I suggest using Cups as the Heart (yes), and Swords as the Head (no), and a 3 card pull. Ideally this would be tested by simple questions "will the bus be late?" "will I get mail today?" etc. to verify the accuracy. These are actual things in motion - but it doesn't answer "should I?", "do they," or "will we/they" etc questions. There's questions about conscience and e…

So, this is a general discussion. The sun, the general interpretation is usually about positivity, success, a "yes" to our life, etc. However, do anyone came across where the sun also indicates short term interest? For example, during a career reading, the sun shows up. I know that it will have good prospective and generally it will bring success to ourselves, but does it also indicate that from the other point of view we will only have passion and goodness for a short period of time? In short, it hints that sustainability is not there?

Hello everyone Are there any decks that you're really attracted to, but you just can't get yourself to say yes to? Mine is the Crystal Visions Tarot. It's a beautiful deck, and it's on my wish list, but when it comes down to it, I just can't get myself to buy it. Are there any decks that you feel this way about?

How would you interpret 10 of Swords for "The reason my girlfriend lied to me"? The question related as to why my partner lied to me about an ex. She said she did not have a romantic relationship with a particular guy I know in the past but I have credible evidence that she indeed did. I've read it can mean someone who seems anxious, stressed, worn out. But this wouldn't fit in this instance. Can it mean bad memories or not wanting to hurt me? Could anyone share insights on this?

I was asking on a goal I have for June of 2019 to move with the family to the place of my dreams-right by the ocean; my daughter is 100% on board my husband is kinda unsure he's weird about change. -__- Not the adventurous sort but oh well...anyway have been working on manifesting and creating these past few months and asked about potential outcome in one deck (my new shadowscape deck) Got the king of cups which..might be wishful thinking but first thought from the imagery was living by the water (my goal is moving right by the ocean) then clarifier was 4 of wands; I see this as a celebration; the new home and feeling the joy and achievement in that...I was journalling fo…

t\Two things I don't believe there are any standing rules for. I've decided over the years, to decide what I believe and stand by it with consistency, then I have guidelines for my readings. If the card action faces left, it is the past, action faces right, happening in the future. Dead on, timing not knowable. I haven't see any fun in doing yes no questions, purely my own years of experience, but I just did an experiment based on years of card knowledge and was surprised at how well yes no was shown to me. Based on recent questions, I figured why not use the same questions allowing me no bias. Am I alive? 6 of Coins. Yes. I can grasp gi…

So... up until now I used to fan the cards on the table and go over them and pick the cards that "call" to me. However, at times I kinda deliberate and unsure picking one then putting it back for another- so while it seems to be rather accurate I would love to find a more convenient but still accurate method. So, How do you shuffle/pick the cards when reading? Any ideas are appreciated! Cheers!!

So this year 2020 is the card 4 The Emperor's ( 2 + 2 ) in tarot and last year we had 12 The Hanging Man's year ( 2 + 0 + 1 + 9 )! Is this something you have thought about before? What's your opinion about this kind of calculations?

Hello everyone, I've seen a section about tarot that reads like "the meaning of cards are never always as they seem.", and the meaning of the card "The Devil" is more interest for me "not always means the evil or distruction, it can mean other things", the personal description about the devil card is more attracted me "a dark lover approaching, bringing terror. irreststible. part of you, but not. the whisper of something ghastly and betiful." My personal expectation for me is to be able to achieve this level of personal interpretation of the cards before I can be qualified to use tarot cards, So, wherer should I begin to learn??
