Had a bewildering dream? Can the Tarot help elucidate? I believe so. Dreams and the Tarot speak the same language: the language of images, metaphor, and senses. Before you begin the spread, as soon as you wake up, write down all the details you remember from the dream. This is an important step. From your short summary, list down words that you want the Tarot to help you with. For example: In my dream I was needing some sugar. I am trying to lose weight but one bag of sugar shouldn't hurt. I was at the grocery paying and the cashier had a knowing smile at me. Her teeth were blue. I reach down for my purse to get money. I fin…

I fell in love with this spread I came across from Alexis J. Cunningfolk of Worts & Cunning Apothecary. (I love her spreads and her blog in general!) This spread is just so beautiful and really calls to the sacred aspects of Samhain. I love her explanation of it too: The third and final harvest festival of the year, Samhain is the end of the bright half of the year – the roots to Beltane’s flowering branches. The part of our selves that has been slumbering since Beltane, awaken to the call of night, as we join the Spirits, Ancient Ones, Ancestors, Wild God/desses, and their horde as they clamber noisily throughout the land, welcoming in the new year. Our S…

Since I just posted Worts & Cunning's Samhain spread, I thought I would also share her beautiful Beltane spread for those approaching the other thinning veil in the Southern Hemisphere! Fire + Fields: A Beltane Tarot Spread 8 7 6 3 5 4 2 1 1. THE SLUMBERING SELF. The unconscious murmuring that guides our bright year adventures. What part of you remains dreaming from Samhain and the dark part of the year? 2. THE SEEDLING. Nurtured since the Spring Equinox, the seedlings have grown into young plants. What has been growing in your life and now is ready for the maturity of summer? 3. THE WOOD. That whi…

Here is another spread that uses dice and cards in collaboration. I'm not entirely sure its flexible enough for all situations, but I like the methodology. I will be doing some practice readings with it and may tweak it https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/08/17/roll-them-bones-situational-awareness-spread/

Hi everyone! I’m fairly new to tarot reading. So I received this 3 card reading as I asked “How does this person feel currently about a recent separation in a love connection”. I was rather shocked at how direct the message of the first card which came flying out from the Angel Tarot deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. I then used my Rider-Waite tarot deck, and The Lovers and The Magician flew out together and at the same time. I would be forever grateful to hear your perspectives on the Lovers and the Magician?? Thanks!

Hey everyone! Hoping for some good insight here. A friend and I recently did self-readings with a 4-card spread using the Johari Window, y'know, for fun: And without getting into extreme detail, I was very intrigued by the cards we drew for our Unknown quadrant (for mine I drew Judgement). Specifically because they are unknown, and I'd like to know more, I thought a follow up spread was needed to get more detail, because out of all the cards drawn, that was the one I had the most trouble interpreting. So I guess what I'm asking for is suggestions of designations I could use to create a follow up spread. What I have so far is "How d…

6 of wands and the Magician as influence cards, The Moon reversed and The Devil are outcome cards and The Star is an advice card. The question is about the future of a relationship.

As I continue to explore "mixed-media" spreads, I decided to tackle the I Ching in conjunction with Anthony Clark's I Ching Pack and the hexagram correspondences in the Thoth deck (as mentioned in Crowley's BoT commentary). I envision using this only for complex problem-solving situations. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/08/24/an-i-ching-tarot-problem-solving-spread/

Here is a spread I intend to use to measure the accuracy of prediction with the cards over an extended period of time. Its more obvious purpose is outdoor event planning. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/08/22/weather-or-not-an-event-planning-spread/

We often talk about the Devil as showing temptation when it appears in a reading, and that can entail a moral dilemma for the querent. I created a spread to get at the heart of such situations. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2018/02/19/the-devil-made-me-do-it-moral-dilemma-spread/

Here is the spread I created using shadow cards to reveal underlying motives and causes for the more explicit cards pulled from the top of the deck. One thing I like is that using reversals with the explicit cards can attune them more closely to the influence of the shadow cards, and perhaps make them more sensitive (and vulnerable) to hidden causes.

I am still rather new, have been practicing for about 4 months now. I have a question about the Celtic Cross Spread. I see so many different iterations for the 3 through 6 positions. Is there a particular right way to lay these cards? Or is it more of what feels right for the reader? Thank you!

The discussion here about the Random Number Generators used in tarot software apps got me thinking how this might be done in an analog way using a board-game spinner. Here's the result. You can make your own spinner or buy one on-line. And if you're ever in Brattleboro, Vt, stop by Patty Newton's Silver Moon Adornments and see her big tarot-card roulette wheel. It's quite impressive. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/07/12/the-round-it-goes-decision-making-spread/

I've been studying with my RWS deck and haven't had much time for doing anything else until today. This morning, I had the strong urge to use my new Everyday Witch Tarot and after my daily draw I decided to do The Deck Interview Spread As a newbie, it's one of the longest I've done, but first time for everything! I thought I'd post my interview in case anyone wants to give it a try. @Nordica De Spell I'm lookin at you! Here's my spread, starting at the top and reading clockwise. ETA: This may be in the wrong area! Mods, help!

Hello, I’m a newbie here and a newbie all around with tarot. I’ve been studying the traditional meanings of the cards for a while and picked up my first deck today. As I’ve been getting acquainted with it, I decided to try an interview spread. The results have me completely confused, as I am still learning to apply the card meanings to specific questions. Any and all help is totally appreciated! Tell me about yourself, what are your most important characteristics? 4 of wands What are your strengths? The Emperor What are your limits? 2 of swords What are you here to teach me? 9 of cups How can I best learn and collaborate with you? The devi…

Many of you know that I like to create intricate spreads with lots of detail that ideally still hang together in a logical way. Here is a problem-solving spread (at its heart a two-option scenario) that uses elemental temperaments in a novel way to point out the most advantageous solution. It consists of two three-card chains, a "quint" card for each chain, and four "background" cards that influence and modify the quint cards through Elemental Dignity. https://parsifalswheeldivination.com/2019/06/26/the-hot-and-cold-running-commentary-problem-solving-spread/
