Lenormand Card Studies

Hi! I would love it if we all could talk a bit, and start a list, about the purpose all the cards have. What they do (deal with the surrounding circumstances in their own unique ways) For example: Whip- Its purpose is to correct and revise Flowers - Its purpose is to arrange agreements Fish - Its purpose is to "lubricate", facilitating exchanges. Snake - Induces/seduces What do you think?

Can the fox describe someone with a narcissistic personality? I think it could since it is about self-interest. What do you think?

Could the Paths & Clover represent going camping? Or a trip in the country? What do you think about this combo?

I've just started an exercise, going through each card, writing down what they could mean. I wondered if Rider could represent a police officer. I confess this is due to the image on the card reminding me of the recent mounted police involved in protests here in Australia, which is tarotising somewhat. If not the Rider, who would you use to represent a police officer?

I saw a person interpret the fish as a soulmate in a relationship reading. Does anyone here do that, if so why? I also saw the anchor being interpreted as an open relationship. I'm trying to understand why cause it's not logical to me. I would love your thoughts on this!

Referring to Andy Boroveshengra's book, he talks about the meaning "weight" of birds. "... If you are asking for information about that day or that week, the cards' meanings are not going to be as heavy as in a reading covering eight weeks' time or more ... the Birds is more likely to show a telephone call, or being in a flap or busy, than short-lived sorrow or a surprising trip in the week ahead. In readings covering a longer period, the Birds is more often anxieties, rather than just telephone calls". I'm wondering what the most likely meaning would be for a month period. Should one take into account the facing direction of the main significators? I seem to remember that this is only relevant in Kipper but can't access my other books because they are all packed. If the Man has his back turned and is facing away into the distance to the right of a card, should extra weight be placed on this? Or should one simply read the combo as it is?

Do the Stars represent electricity and if so, why? What's the reasoning behind it? Has anyone had any personal association with this meaning in the cards?

I know that the Bear can, on some occasions, represent a woman - such as a mother or grandmother. Can the Bear also represent a man? And if so, in what sort of circumstances?

I am confused about the Coffin and the Pall that is shown on it in many decks. The scenario of what it means, the direction the pall is facing towards versus the uncovered, I am guessing head of the coffin, is contradicted and explained in so so many ways that my head has started to spin on a basic and traditional manner that this might be read. Reading Andy’s book I see the directionality being simply the card before the Coffin is…… and the card after is ….. That makes sense I just don’t want to be missing a nuance that might prove useful. Again, thanks for any assistance you all may be able to add.

I am working with getting back my traditional footing as I have mentioned in a previous post. I recently met a woman who just moved into our neighborhood here in Vermont. Being a very small village, I figured I would ask about her personality/character to get a sense of what she is about. As I structure my workbook/journal for my return to traditional readings I find myself adding a section on each card’s page for those with directional information. I can’t remember where I read, it’s not in Andy’s book that I can see thus far, that what the nose of the Cavalier’s horse points to gives you an indication of the subject of the news being received. I know all the cards very near/touching the card give you info on the news, but again, the one the horse’s nose is pointing to is the subject. Is this something that traditional readers would normally look at or is this one of those idiosyncrasies that I picked up along the way and should discard? I …

I am still very new to Lenormand and am probably overlooking something. I have no idea what to do with these cards when they show up in a spread. I have read that they are supposed to signify the querent or someone in the querent's life, but I am having trouble getting past the binary genderedness. All of the other cards have keywords I can work with like strength and message, but if these two have useful keywords, I have not figured them out, so when these cards are in combinations, I can't read them. For example, I pulled the cards fish-key-man, which looks like a man is the key to my prosperity, and that's just insulting, so I really hope I'm misunderstand…

Hello, everyone. When using the Book card, in your readings, are the pages or the spine of the emblem used to represent hidden, unknown information? I remember that I read about both viewpoints. This got me confused.

Guys, hello. Pardon my inquiries, but that's why I am here, to learn from other Lenormand cartomancers. Can the brief duration of The Clover be absorbed by a card next to it? Also, can this card lend a feeling of lightheartedness and humor to a situation? Or, are these too far-fetched interpretations?

Clouds is a problematic card in Lenormand. That's obvious. However, it brings about extra complications to me, sometimes. In these occasions, this card appears in my readings as if showing the outcome is uncertain, that I won't get a clear answer or my view is blocked and any prediction cannot be seen clearly. It acts as if the cards were saying: stop inquiring for the time being. It mostly happens this way when I'm reading a line of five and it falls on the last position. Am I doing anything wrong?

Hello Lenormand readers out there! I am just getting started on this wonderfully different system (from my Tarot perspective), and I am really fascinated by it. I downloaded the Treppner course and bought Andy Boroveshengra's book and installed the Dondorf app on my ipad, so I have a pretty good base for the moment I feel. Hi everyone I have always doubt the meaning of these 2 cards... I don't really understand their purpose. I mean, lets say my question is if a boy likes me, and Lady is in the spread. Does that represent me? Is the spread telling me Im there? Whats the purpose on that? I already know that Im there...
