The Wild Unknown

I'm excited that I finished up a different project this morning and I can start working on this study group. I really hope others will join and explore this deck with me. The Wild Unknown was hyper-popular for a while shortly after its publication in 2011. That was around the same time that I finished up my third and final bout of working for a tarot reading service, providing readings via phone and went on a long sabbatical from both Internet life and reading/collecting tarot decks. So for me, the Wild Unknown Tarot is brand new and I'm just starting to read the guide books (official and unofficial) and really taking a good look at the cards. What I reall…

I have 'thoughts' about this major arcana card. But before I post what I think, I would like to hear what anyone else has to say about the card. I know, that's probably cheating. I am curious to find out if others see what I see or if I'm ... perhaps bonkers. I'd post a pic but have not quite got that figured out yet. I look forward to everyone's input!

Rather than jumping into the Major Arcana or any specific card as the next topic, I decided to talk generally about the four suits. Like any proper tarot, TWU uses the four classical elements and then has them embodied with the conventional Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles The deck creator doesn't have anything to say on the suits in the official guidebook, letting normal conventions and our own intuitions guide us through the suits. So I'm not going to get into the theorycraft of the elements either at this time and place. Others are welcome too 🙂 The Wands Having branches as very primal and nature-based wands completely fits with this deck. Only…

Prompted by my daily journaling, I decided to make an exercise for us. You can either shuffle randomly or select the cards specifically. Either way, lay out four cards in a row and then use them to help answer the questions below. Post your responses as you please. I'm including mine. 🙂 What kind of theme and mood does this deck have? How does it link to the elements of fire, water, air, earth? What do you appreciate most about this deck? What do you most appreciate about these specific four cards? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ …

Hello everyone! This is my first study group on TT&M. I've asked @Gardener to participate with me and everyone is welcome. Feel free to start you own threads but I'm going to make the request that each of the 78 cards gets just one thread; topics that aren't about a specific card but rather a more general topic that directly relates to the Wild Unknown Tarot (including comparisons with another specific card deck such as the Wild Unknown Archetypes Oracle Deck) are great topics too. Every thread should be about the study or use of the Wild Unknown Tarot, however. Some General online resources for The Wild Unknown Tarot (WUT) Wild …
