Not sure if 8 of Wands has shown up this way for anyone else's readings but twice now it has shown up in readings I did about people who passed in accidents where the event happened very quickly and could not be stopped once it was started... The first reading was about Kobe Bryant's death.... I took the 8 of Wands to be talking about how the incident with the helicopter happened very fast and that once it had begun there was no way to stop it from crashing. I also felt the card often being associated with air travel was also pertinent. Then a few days ago, I was reading for someone whose best friend threw himself on a bomb to save his life (while…

I saw this question on another site and would like to hear your thoughts on this. If 10 of Cups comes up in a spread for you as "something to let go of" or "cut off", how do you plan on interpreting this or breaking the news to the querent?

I'm really confused by this card. I've seen people say this card is about dreams and wishes that don't necessarily, or rarely, come true. It's the idyllic picture of the white-picket fence ending, but it's largely fantasy...unachievable...an unrealistic standard. Yet, I've seen people receive this card in terms that their desires do come true. A card to represent the future of the relationship (and they do get happily married!), it's the card for their spouse (they represent so much joy for them!), about goals realized (they found the community they were wishing for!) This question of mine sparked this post. So, what is this card? Is it unrealisti…

Hello friends, how are you? Could you please share with me? 🙃 I understand as advice: "Be like this card. Assume the characteristics, actions that suggest this card"; 10 Pentacles/Coins as a GENERAL ADVICE (there is no specific question, just an orientation for the week, using RWS deck) I can think of: Invest time with your family Share your inner wealth with the people you love Ask your family for help Cherish the traditional, hierarchies Cherish the great possessions Leave a legacy, inheritance Open your eyes to the riches of everyday life Build a solid foundation that spans generations Materialize your desires Take care o…

I have been having problems with the 10 swords card RWS. When I search it, some meanings of the reverse is the same as the upright while others speak of the reverse being about brighter days. I sat down with the card and asked for help. This is what I got. Please tell me if any of you see it any differently. 10 swords upright- failure and ruin. Everything that can go wrong went wrong. It is a card of betrayal. You have been betrayed and it is the final nail in the coffin. It is over with. What ever the situation is, it is over, and there is no hopes of fixing it, you should move on. It is time to move on but there is another chapter coming that is better, as t…

I looked up the root of the word "fascism" today, and it is "fasces": including the long history of this symbol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasces, which is a bound wood bundle. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Fascist_Party. Not all of the card decks show them bound, but the Thoth card says OPPRESSION. http://www.esotericmeanings.com/ten-of-wands-thoth-tarot-card-tutorial/ Has this card ever come up for you, or would you use it, as an indicator for describing a fascist person or system? Or only in combination w another card?

Hi all Can anyone tell me the meaning of the 12 stars in the crown on the Empress please? Reading about it, I find different answers, from being connected to the cosmos or the spirit world to being in control of each month of the year but this feels like it is far older than that. If it were the cycle of the year, would it not be 13 moons? There are many images of the Virgin Mary with a 12 star crown or 12 stars around her head relating back to Revelations (A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.) The Visconte Sforza shows and Empress dressed in gold with a cro…

Recently in one of my readings I drew as a signifier the 2 of Cups, then above that the Ace of Wands and 3 of Cups. Initially I interpreted this to mean that there was excitement regarding a new relationship but it turned out that it suggested a polyamorous relationship with three other people. Isn't that wild? So I learned that the combination of the 2 and 3 of Cups can symbolize a polyamorous arrangement.

Apologies if this has been posted before. Can we talk about the 2 and 3 of Wands? I have always found these cards a little bit difficult to interpret because the imagery and associated meanings are so similar. I tend to interpret the 2 primarily as a card representing making plans and the first initial steps toward a goal, but I've heard other readers associate this card with personal power, as well, but I think there are other cards that represent that idea more clearly, like the Magician, the Chariot, King of Wands, etc. I tend to interpret the 3 as expansion and growth, possibly leadership. There's just such a fine line between these two cards and I'm really curious ho…

Not trying to be fancy here, but as I understand the Bicameral Mind as a theory, hypothesis or proven mental operation, it suggests one part of the mind speaks and the other listens and obeys. I'm not sure this mental operation is exactly what I'm attributing to the interpretation of this card I've come to defer to, but for me it works like this, for example: Say I am constructing a platform that must be assembled in a stairwell so painting can take place. The building of it will have to be thought through in detail so that when it is legged up the uppermost surface will be level and safe for placing a step ladder. I won't call this mental preparation meditati…

Hi everyone, what could mean the 3 of Cups as how to deal with anxiety? Maybe sharing how you're feeling with your loved ones? Any ideas? Thanks.

I’m curious how others interpret the 3 of Cups when it comes to love/romance readings Yes, I often associated with a “third party”, but also I tend to associate it with a relationship that might be fun, but really not very serious, or most likely will fizzle out- that it’s not really built to last I understand the other cards in the spread make a difference, but typically unless I see it with a Ten of Cups or a Two of Cups, that is how I see it, and especially if I see it with a Page (immature) energy For me it’s simply not an indicator of a serious romance But, I’m curious how others read it!

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem with the 3 of Pentacles (RWS), that is I think didn't really understand its true meaning.. I've always considered it as a card of teamwork, support, solid basis between two and also a card of learning and hard work, but it has sometimes occured to be not so positive.. What's its real meaning? What are those 3 people really up to? Are they really building something together? What are your experiences with this card? Thank you so much.

So I know this card is generally related to heartbreak, break ups, difficulties in relationships etc. But given that it's a swords card it has me a bit confused. Swords deal with mental/intellectual aspects, while cups deal with emotions. Therefore, I'd expect to see a card about heartbreak to be in the cups suit more than with the swords suit. What is your take on this card? Do you think it relates more to the mental aspects of heartbreak, like when your mind is racing and you can't stop thinking about someone/something? Or do you think that regardless of the suit, it can still relate to heartbreak on an emotional level?

In a recent thread, there was some discussion that has had me pondering interpretations of the 3 of Swords and I would enjoy receiving additional thoughts and insights. logic killing emotions emotions killing logic My pondering so far, I can see both perspectives and in different readings it could lean in either direction. The 3S is often showing a piercing heart which assumes stabbing, painful emotions. As a Swords card depicting communication, intellect, clarity, mental processing, ego, is there then some kind of communication or knowledge that causes the stabbing, painful emotions or is having a broken heart and a never-ending thoug…

Hello everybody, today I'd like to ask you for some clues about the 3 of Wands in terms of job hunting. In particular, I'd like to know how this card can be interpreted as advice, especially when you keep on sending your CV, but get no answer. Does it mean "just wait and see" or there's another message I'm missing? Thank you so much.

Hello everyone, I was wondering about another possible meaning of the 4 of Pentacles as feelings.. This card often occurs to me to mean jealousy or no feelings at all, but what about someone holding back their feelings? Like you're attracted to someone, but you try to ignore your emotions. Could this make sense with the 4 Pents? Thank you in advance.

5 of Sword of Thoth deck says "Defeat". RWS deck has image of a guy grinning at his opponents retreating. I get confused when this card comes up. Does it mean I defeated my opponent? Or did my opponent defeated me? Is it positive or negative card? How do you make of this card, when shows up in the readings?

I've been thinking about this card recently and really see them as building a Pentagram or Pentacle these days. In some decks, it's more visible than others, this is RWS and it's even more obvious in Wiccan / Pagan style decks. A Pentagram has the five elements on the points, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. This looks like they are making an upright symbol, maybe to bring balance in all areas, rather than the conflict of the card? Or maybe it represents a Pentacle, that could represent manifestation and a tangible result? Turning scattered into structure. It's a grounding symbol. It's funny how you still see new things…

What could 5 of wands mean when it appears as the potential card in a love reading. Is it pointing to a relationship that's filled with conflicts, disagreements, arguments and tension. That the two people are perhaps too different to have a harmonious relationship. Or could it be saying there could be competition - other potential partners competing for this person's attention. It doesn't seem a very encouraging card! Any input appreciated.

Just wondered. Can be 5 of wands about making thinks together/build something? If you check out at this card, it seems like they are working on something and they are looking at their wands like with admiration and astonishment and not who is next to them. Maybe they are mad for small place between them, but seems more they are working on something imo.

I would like to start some threads to share some ideas on individual cards.Especially for those decks who have images that look different or strange. This one is for 6 of cups. These days i am studying and started to use some decks that i didn't use till now. One of them is the Scapini Medieval. Some minors on this deck are really strange. Here the 6 of cups has the meaning of past influences, things that have vanished, faded images, longing, childhood past, memories, nostalgia but look how different is the feeling you get when you see this image, how it affects you.Well very different from r/w and the decks based on it i mean. On the r/w deck there is something sweet w…

I view the 6 of Pentacles Reversed as not having any/enough money to be generous and help someone else. Can I say that the individual that the card was drawn for can't physically be there to help me because he's not in town?
