anyone considering the Way of the Panda creator's new Kickstarter?

It's called The Spread Machine and I'm gonna link it now in the hopes that that's not against the rules in this section. (If it is, can someone let me know so I can delete the link, please?)

But anyhow, do I need it since I'm such a newbie tarot reader? Or am I being seduced by the pretty font and colors and I can find all that info on my own on the web so I should just save my money for more decks instead? 😉

I think there is a kickstarter area the forum, if a mod wants to move this there they will. We love knowing when new decks go up!

It is a good question you bring up though. I've bought a couple of spread books and decks over the years and found in the end I never used them, I have a stack of about 20-25 index cards with favorites on them that I always come back to. Easy. Simple. Nearly free 🙂

There are several people here who are really good at drilling down to the nitty-gritty and forming spreads, watch for those.

And on a defunct forum there is this, http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=203788 with 100's if not a 1000 spreads for every possibility on earth. The key to spreads is knowing your question... hazy or general questions bring hazy general results.

All that said, this isn't an oracle either, oracles by their nature make you think for yourself, this is just keywords thinking for you.

Welcome to the forum, read everything you can, take what you want, leave the rest, including this. Jump in on the reading threads, and join in where ever you are comfortable.

Oh, I think this resonates with me best and has convinced this indecisive Gemini: "This is just keywords thinking for you." I don't think I want that; I want to develop my intuitive reading - but founded on a solid background knowledge, of course. I think I subconsciously wanted a quick and dirty solution, which was why the keywords attracted me in the first place. I need to remember that anything worth doing is worth doing well. And thoughtfully. And thoroughly.

Thank you, AJ! You just saved me on a FOMO purchase. 🙂

I backed it. I love the idea of using it to create my own custom-spreads, I'm not very creative when it comes to that. Also, I think it will be great for me to use for my journaling, with or without Tarot or Oracle cards. Expensive for just journal prompts, but I'm sure they'll be of use to me.

We have an amazing  De-Enabling thread if you ever need help NOT to buy a deck, the lovely people here are very supportive in putting you off a purchase 😄
