Old friends, you say?

Yes, I’m a bit late to the party, but I used to be an active member of the Aeclectic Tarot forum. After it shut down it was just me, tarot, and tea for a while… The offline version, that is. But now I suddenly miss the community aspect of tarot, so here I am! I’ve already seen some familiar names. :animated-smileys-waving-065:

I’m a beekeeper, plant-lover, herbalist. I share my space (a dreamy house on the Dutch coast) with chickens, a cat and some polyamorous humans. I’m an aspiring pianist (I just learned my first cords), I’d love to hear about your favourite piano songs, classical or otherwise. I love to be creative, in the most broad sense of the word: it makes me happy when my hands create things. Think weaving, sewing, embroidery, stained glass, woodwork, gardening…

Tarot for me is like a childhood friend. Tarot en me got to know each other when I was about 9 years old, when my aunt introduced us. And even though there have been many phases in my life where I haven’t been maintaining our relationship, it always feels safe and warm to come back. The presence of tarot is always interwoven in my existence.

Currently I’m enjoying reading with the Wild Unknown Tarot, this deck just sparkles my intuition and imagination. The Anna K. tarot is also one of my go-to decks. You’ll find other decks I love in my profile. I’m hoping to find an admiration for a new deck around here!

PS. My profile pic is a snippet of an image I made for the Fifth Aeclectic Community Tarot Deck. It's my interpretation of the Ace of Pentacles - and now, it functions as a bridge for me, connecting the old with the new. I'm excited about this start of a new journey with all of you here!

“To be a gentle mover in a swiftly spinning world. To be present. To extract the poetry. To only entertain the real. To listen. To seek the genuine. To stand inside of the stretch, the momentum, the tall discomfort of change, the knowing that you don’t need to rush the practice, or ever fake or force a thing. To believe in rhythm and movement. To trust in the river, the song, the stillness, the storm, and the seed.” - Victoria Erickson

Welcome to the forum!

I'm a musician and pianist too!  Nowadays, I generally play folk music (from British Isles) in a number of Ceilidh bands (aka folk dance bands, a ceilidh is similar to a barn dance) but I was classically trained on piano and flute and I've been embracing the extra time to play the piano more during the pandemic.  I'm currently teaching my husband to play piano - one of our pandemic projects!  Myself, I'm particularly in love with playing a Beethoven waltz at the moment.

You can find sheet music for it here - its the 1st waltz I love a lot.  There's a lovely recording of all 6 waltzes in that book here on YouTube.

I'm also a creative - mostly textile crafts - spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving, sewing.  Although I venture into other things occassionally!  We have a Creative Tarot Circle here you might be interested in - we have a card for a month and we allow that to inspire our creative juices, we're working on the Wheel of Fortune this month.  I think its in a section where you need 5 posts in order to see it, but here's the link for this month's anyway so you've got it in a convenient place in case it interests you!

Thank you for your warm welcome @stephanelli!

That sounds like a lot of fun, making music with your husband! I started playing because I recently bought a house, that came with a beautiful old piano! I'm taking online classes, but sometimes I wish I had someone in person to guide me. But I'm so grateful for the opportunity.

I'm definitely going to check out the Creative Tarot Circle, it's always nice to have a goal or theme is inspiration for projects.

I'll be off, listening to some Beethoven waltzes on youtube ❤️

ETA: I peeked on you Instagram profile, I love your style! You have such a lovely feeling for colors and textures, it was a pleasure to scroll through.

The piano lessons are fun.  They happen now whenever I feel he is ready to move on from one of his pieces when I hear him practising.  He is working through the book I had when I was learning and he started off with two short pieces to practice and we worked to the point where he has 4 short pieces to practice.  When I feel he has mastered one, he gets to start work on a new one and the lessons it teaches.  Its a relaxed but fun way to do it.

I wish my house came with a piano when we brought it!  I had a digital piano for years but last year, someone was getting rid of 1920s upright piano for free near me so I tried it out and it came home with me.  Its rather battered as it was used in a school for a while, but it sounds okay and keeps its tuning fairly well!  So I ended up with two pianos 😆

Awww, thank you 🙂 I absolutely LOVE working with colour and the feels I get from each colour.  Texture is often a happy accident but I give some thought to it based on the raw materials going into a project 😄

Ohh, that is so lovely to hear! I love ferns so much that I actually have them tattooed over my back, they mean a lot to me 🌿 I hope some of that meaning seeped through in your reading ❤️
