So Twitch is a live streaming platform owned by Amazon these days. It has millions of users and was originally intended just for gamers but its exploded into other content. People actually log in to watch other people knit and craft there and type in chat while the crafter, using a webcam, is streaming what they are doing, talks about the knitting, the pattern, the yarn, where they got it and so on. People can now do tarot there as well, both as practice and to sell readings. I was originally planning on doing that starting this week but I opted not to. Too much on my plate and the world is just as (if not more so) as unsettled by pandemic and politics in late January as it was in late September. My nerves aren't up to it talking online about tarot with random people in "real time" rather than a forum. Too much stress and there's so much to be said for having amazing moderators around to protect us all from harassment and exploitation. 🙂

You can find it over here on Folksy - https://folksy.com/shops/stephanellidesigns! It is wonderful to see your yarn shop! I always loved the colors of your wool and you have so many gorgeous selections! You must be putting that spinning wheel to very good use, glad to see it.
stephanelli Posted February 8, 2021 Author Posted February 8, 2021 It's been a little while since I did a little update here! I've been very busy working on commissions and that isn't likely to change soon, but I've been using weekend as little "me" time and occasionally as "shop"time. (If anyone wants to commission me for something - dyed silk, spun wool, embroidery, knitted/crocheted/sewn items - then do get in touch!) This weekend I made a start on a Blackwork Embroidery Sampler that will eventually use all the silks that I dye for the shop. I thought it'd be interesting to share a little bit about my thought process for the first silk I'm using. This is "Dragon". When I was dyeing Dragon, I thought about a lot of different colour options, but eventually settled on this one. I was thinking about how dragons are similar to the Magician in a way. The Magician works with all the elements, and in a way, so can a dragon - it has Fire, obviously, buried inside itself, but ready to shoot outside at a moment's notice; it is comfortable with both Earth (I'm thinking caves and being able to walk easily) and Air (they fly...); And finally, I like to think that dragons enjoy a nice relaxation and cooling off in the Water, much like real reptiles do occasionally. Bring a creative person, I like to listen to my inner Magician and channel her into my craft to try and use the various elements to bring out new things. Throughout my craft prices, it always amazes me how much things come back to the tarot, I believe that subconsciously they help me keep my creative juices flowing! Anyway, this rambling thought process somehow ended up with the above colours, which I love so much! I plan to top up the supplies of silk in the shop soon as it's getting a little low again so look out for more creatures soon! As ever, you can see what's currently available in my Folksy Shop 😊
